5 years from now, HS kids will be able to go straight into the league again, and by then 'Bron will be owner/GM/coach/player of the Lakers and he will start opening night along side his dad.
This is something Kingspeed would come up with.

Curious why the experts think the Spurs will struggle so much? They won what, 47 games last season and have now added an all-nba player in Derozen. I would think that would make them better right?

They also lost two starters. Now, those starters were Kyle Anderson (to Memphis) and Danny Green (also to the Raptors), but they knew the system and were both way better defenders than DeRozan. Also they lost Tony Parker.

That's intentionally deceptive, because it counts the sum total of their contracts, and all the 2018 guys have signed 1-year contracts. There is no way that Cousins is going to be paid the mid-level NEXT year.
Would you prefer if they said, "For the 2018-19 season, Cousins, Lopez, Noel, Monroe, and McGee will be paid a combined total of $17M; at the same time, Joakim Noah will be paid $18.5M."

I hate shit like that. If you really were such a conspiracy theorist, why watch the NBA at all? Let me guess, you're also a WWE fan?
Lol, no I have never been a wwe fan. Was Sacramento getting screwed in the wcf just a figment of my imagination? Seemed like the NBA has a vested interest there. It’s not a conspiracy theory, I don’t think the NBA is going to go out and tell all the other teams to give the Lakers wins. I do think the business of the NBA believes it’s better for them when the Lakers are in the mix, and when Lebron is too.

Great points, but they brought in arguably the best SG in the league. I think the addition of thatfar outweighs the lost. Greens defense and 3 point shooting will be missed for sure.

The theory is that DeRozan and Aldridge are both mid-range two point shooters. Analytics suggest that this is a horrible strategy as you want to get 3 point shots or get to the rim for prime efficiency. Spurs were a bad three point shooting team last year and DeRozan makes them even worse in that department. There is also some worry about spacing as it's harder to space the court for mid range shots as it is having guys outside the arc. DeRozan is also a below average defender (rates close to CJ).

Personally I think that the Spurs are being slept on a bit and that Pop will make it work. There is too much talent there.

Pardon me, but who's making that argument? I mean, I guess if you argue that Harden's not a SG, then Derozan could arguably be the best in the league. But otherwise, no.

I would put Klay Thompson and Jimmy Butler ahead of him too. If the question is who I'd rather have on the Blazers I'd also include Bradley Beal and Devin Booker.

I'd also put Oladipo over Derozan. But at least all of those are "arguable". Harden is inarguably better than Derozan.

Yes, that would make the point without being deceptive.

That's an argument that the person making it would lose quickly.

Here's a juicy little tidbit for the Neil haters:

Of the GM's that signed those six players (Timofey Mozgov, Joakim Noah, Ian Mahinmi, Meyers Leonard, Bismack Biyombo and Miles Plumlee), only Neil Olshey and Ernie Grunfield are still employed by the same team they were two years ago.

On the bright side, all but Joakim Noah, Meyers Leonard and Ian Mahinmi have been traded. So, there is still hope. Since signing their current contracts in 2016, Mozgov has been traded three time and Plumlee twice.

Mozgov was attached with a recent #2 pick to a desperate Nets team then traded for Dwight, then Biyombo.

Plumlee was traded for Dwight too.

Shuffling chairs haha.

Yeah, I get it, but the Meyers hatred around here is so intense, I think both he and us would benefit from a change. Even if it was just trading him for a different overpriced, under-performing center on a similar contract. At least we'd get some fresh takes from the nattering nabobs.

Would I rather someone else be getting paid his $? Yes.
But I wouldn't trade Nards just to trade him for an underperforming overpriced Center on a similar contract.
Nards was a good teammate last year.
If you're trading him and getting value back. I'm on board. But to trade him for another shit contact, is just a bad move imo.
Who knows if that player will be as good of a teammate as Nards has shown to be.

This is coming from someone who absolutely hates watching Nards play.
Someone who will voice in every game thread this coming year how annoying it is to watch Nards get minutes.
