I don’t like Neil, I just don’t. I can’t take away that their win totals have gone up, that he has made some good moves, that yeah bringing in CJ and Dame and trading for Nurkic have all proven to be pretty great.
I think there ARE good arguements for giving him more time to try to get this team to some playoff success.

I also believe there are good arguements for getting rid of him too, and I fall on the side of wanting to get someone else.
Oh and to be fair the Nurkic contract he gave this summer seems like a really good deal for the Blazers so I’ll give him credit for that too.

If you want to discuss why I fall on the side of getting rid of him, I’d love to! But we should probably take that discussion to one of the Olshey threads or a private conversation.

Highly doubt it. Dames been upset with Neil before.

TBF, we all are entitled to our opinions and I respect yours as well.
My position re: Neil is that if in the 4th year of the rebuild we trend downwards, it would be cause for Paul to determine weather to blow the team completely up, and rebuild for another 5 years out. However, if the team again surprise's and finishes the regular season as they did last year, and make's noise in the playoffs, he's earned and opportunity to go into year 5, 19/20.
My gut tells me that if Paul were to fire Neil now and make a coaching change that would most definitely give Dame and CJ cause to re-evaluate if this place, team/city, is really where they would want to be going forward. Have a great Sunday!
 


I think it's things like this that influenced Olshey's shooting guard binge this off-season.

The Blazers coaches need to take advantage of the team leading dunk2 shooter to make about 6 additional 2 point shots. This adjustment can help the Blazers toward the 112 points/game that would likely mean wins. It does not make sense to me to leave this talent on the bench.

Kevin Pelton says what you all refuse to believe--that my down shooting last year was a fluke (damn Westbrook), I'm better defensively than you all think, and I'm going to make the Rockets better this year.

Question though. If the lakers make it further in the playoffs, would you still consider the season over after the last Blazer game?

Do you count Game 1 or Game 4 as the last game being over? Because we really threw in the towel in a hurry.

And our Summer League championship is a more important start to the season than preseason!
