Nah, much as I hate to say it, Lakers were the best team all year, and it wasn't really close.

Playoffs this year will be interesting though. Lakers will be most feared 6 seed since 95 Rockets.

The Bucks were by far the best team all year last season, up until the break. And the break killed that teams momentum.

I wonder if how much of the Lakers success last year was due to the league shutting down for 3 months and giving Davis (and to a lesser degree, LeBron) a chance to heal up from his annual trip to the injury list.

maybe the Blazers should petition to get a 3 month reprise during the season each year...

I mean we benefited from the shutdown with Nurk getting more time to heal up.

...6th seed?! :sigh:
Hey, if tonight goes well, and the Blazers are then able to go 3-2 over their final 5, they might be able to hold them off and relegate them to the play-in, which would be awesome. With UTA/PHX/DEN to close the season, I'm not particularly hopeful of that, but there is a chance.

Who actually thought this was possible 2 weeks ago?
Never Give up!
Never!

Twice now I'd just about to write them off, and here they are still fighting. I'm still doubtful that they'll go very far in the playoffs, but I wouldn't be very surprised to see this team do some serious damage, either. Knocking the Clippers out of the playoffs in the first round would be amazingly satisfying to me.

Oddly, aren't those the only games they have lost of their last 11.
Yeah - someone pointed out their record was something like:
Win 3
Lose to Sac
Win 3
Lose to Sac
Win 3
Lose to Sac

What interests me is that the team actually seems to do better when Jalen Brunson is on the floor than when Doncic is. Not to say that the team would even be in the playoffs without Doncic, but I think people perpetually overlook how good and consistent a coach Rick Carlisle is.

If only we had kept Carlisle and fired Dunleavy.

Consistent? since their ship years ago made it to offs 5 times and knocked from first round, missed it 4 times including last year.

Stotts is made for the Wizards as he knows how to coach star guards, and would be a good fit for Beal & Westbrick.

Consistant or not, he has had a Mavs team with less talent than the Blazers.....in front of them for a good majority of the season.

Eh? We were well ahead of Dallas all season until our skid of dropping 5 games a few weeks back. It's what made me comfortably think Dame would get first team over Luka. Not so much any more

compare rosters and I wouldn't say we are much more talented, pretty close really. They are deeper imo.

New Orleans blames Zion injury on officials: "I believe he probably suffered the injury over a period of time," Griffin said. "It's a striking injury. It's a blunt force injury. He was being beaten on the hand over and over and over again. For me to tell you one time, I don't think I can do that. I don't think he knows one time."
"I'm really frustrated because this was avoidable. We told the NBA through every means available to us, through sending in film, through speaking to everybody in the officials department and everybody in basketball operations, that the way they were officiating Zion was going to get him injured," Griffin said. "And quite frankly, he's injured because of the open season that there's been on Zion Williamson in the paint.

"He has been absolutely mauled in the paint on a regular basis to the point that other players have said to him, 'I'm going to keep doing this to you because they don't call it.' "

What a load of shit. He gets calls all the time.

It's the same crap that Shaq used to complain about. They go into the paint and bully people and then bitch and moan about the other players being physical back.

He gets calls. Dame gets it far worse

Too bad westbrick isn’t chasing rings.

I haven't kept up with the Raptors all season, but why did they basically fall off the map from last season?
