Then you have the moron Rangers fans on HF that like Kakko for Gourde and even want to throw in a pick. Please. Kakko, like Lafreniere has been completely misused by the incompetent Rangers. You don't take the second or first overall pick in the draft and never give them first PP time. Only the Rangers can be so stupid. I wanted Gourde back in the day when we could have given up a lot less. If they move Kakko, it better be for a similar age center with close to the same upside. Never ceases to amaze me of the stupidity of posters on HF. Especially Rangers fans.

Kakko has been through three different coaches...all of whom chose not to put him (or Lafreniere for that matter) on the PP1. I think the most simple explanation is Kakko doesn't belong on the PP1 and multiple coaches see that.

They weren't put on the first PP unit because the Rangers are an incompetent, clusterfuck run organization. You don't want to seem to acknowledge that. One cup in 85+ years but yeah, let's keep thinking the coaches they hire know what they are doing. The problem with the three coaches is they all have done the same thing. Suck off the veteran players. Why are Zibanejad and Kreider playing on the first PP unit instead of Lafreniere who has outplayed both of them at even strength by a mile? So the coaches this clusterfuck organization continues to hire, reward two dipshits who can't score at even strength and can't play with anybody other than Buchnevich, yet punishes the first pick in the draft who has scored at even strength for 2 years now. Yeah, keep believing that the coaches and this loser organization know what they are doing.

I swear, we have the only fans on the planet that are fans of a team that has one title in 85+ fucking years that continue to think that the organization and their coaches know what they are doing. I mean, I have given indisputable, factual evidence of how every other fucking team in the league uses top 5 forward picks. They play them 17+ minutes a night and on the first PP unit from the first day they come in the league. However, our tool fans still won't acknowledge that and blame Lafreniere and Kakko instead of the dumb fucks running things in this organization. I guarantee when Kakko goes to another team, after about 30-40 games on the top PP unit, he will start lighting it up and again, the Rangers will look like the retards they are.

This is how the trade DL works. Either you pay up, or you don't add anything of impact. When a guy like Monahan goes for a 1st and a conditional 3rd, it tells you all you need to know.

Drury has a big decision on his hands, to go for it or not, which means dealing their 1st round pick and/or Kakko if you want anything of impact. Maybe you can get away with a 2nd or a conditional pick that could become a 1st if the Rangers make the ECF, but we are not getting anything of real impact for pennies on the dollar, not how the trade DL works.

The NHL trade market is probably the worst of all the sports. And it’s mostly due to the shitty salary cap put in place by the commissioner along with this new crappy point system which keeps team “in” the playoff hunt points wise but reality wise they don’t have a chance. The trade deadline should be moved back about 3 weeks and then it won’t be as shitty. There’s simply too many teams with a chance to get into the playoffs to have it be a fair market. It’s always a sellers market but there aren’t enough sellers ever.

I was wanting him on the Rangers for a long time as you know. The fact he signed with a team at his age that he knew was terrible tells me two things. One, he is situated in that area with family. Two, he is not making winning the cup a priority. Not sure I would have interest any longer. I know he has a long time girlfriend. My guess is she is not interested in leaving that area.

Shame because he would be a perfect fit for a while with Cuylle and Othmann. That being said, if Monahan brought back a first, Jenner would get more than that. Monahan has been wildly inconsistent. You know what you are getting with Jenner.

Krebs is interesting. He doesn't get the ice time he needs to improve. He was a guy most scouting reports said was a pretty safe bet to be a good NHL player and he is a winning player. I would gladly welcome the Rangers getting him for the right price. He has role player production so far but his upside is more than that in the right situation.

If Drury goes after a center that has been more than a role player, the cost seems to be a first. His target should be a guy with role player production but more upside than that.

Nah, no way. Not with his production so far. He doesn't have near the production to command that type of return. My guess is they would probably ask for Sykora which I wouldn't do. I might offer Edstrom and Berard. Not much more.

I would have traded a late 1st rounder in a weak draft, but seeing how we ended up, I am actually not happy we traded away four picks for no reason. We should have sold and added extra picks if this was the final team. I am most annoyed by no plan, and half a**ing it.

And yes, we are all aware of your plan. F a 1st place team, a top 5 in the NHL team, we need that 25th pick. Let's start threads about kids scoring points in the minors and talk about next year and 5 years from now every single year. I 100% believe you care more about the minors and mainly average kids than actually winning a Cup.
