Official: Larry Brown Fired

Larry Brown is a great coach, but for various reasons, bringing him to the Knicks did not turn out the way we had hoped and we wish him the best in the future."

Thomas, who joined the Knicks as president and general manager on Dec. 22, 2003, previously served as a head coach with the Indiana Pacers for three seasons from 2000-01 through 2002-03. Coaching a youthful Pacers team, he compiled a record of 131-115 record, making the playoffs in each of his three seasons.</div>

I think it's an awful move. Larry Brown was not the problem, but it will be very entertaining to see Thomas attempt to turn the team around.

Brown was never the right coach for this type of team, I think they will be better off without him.

Well it's true Brown didn't put 100% in the team last yr, but I think it's mostly Isiah's fault. Isiah should have been fired as soon as he traded for Steve Francis. Everybody knew it was a terrible trade, but for some odd reason he still pulled the trigger. Given a better mix of players, Brown could have worked it out. But aslong as Isiah's running the show, the Knicks will always be terrible.

Obviously firing Larry Brown was a stupid move by the Knicks. On the other hand seeing Isiah Thomas embarass himself trying to get this heartless team full of losers and bums to make the playoffs will be fun to watch. Isiah Thomas will finally get to coach the players he brought in like I was hoping before he hired Brown. We'll finally see what Isiah's vision was. I have a feeling that after another disaster of a season Isiah Thomas will be fired.


Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

Cuz if he isn't then it isn't that bad, Keep his as coach where he has several advisors in assistant coaches and get him the hell out of the GM office, but if he is still GM, the Dolan made a stupid stupid move.

The only reason I can support this move, is that it puts Isiah Thomas in a very vulnerable situation. As a coach/GM/president, he's exhausted any other people to blame for this situation. If the Knicks screw up, and we all know they will, Isiah's almost guaranteed to be fired. I still think Larry Brown is the right coach for any situation, but the chance to completely rid yourself of Isiah is too good to miss.
