Fox Sports offered the Blazers $4mill a year for 4 years.

Comcast offered $10mill a year for 10 years.

I'm guessing Comcast will offer $20mill a year for 10 years.

And if they do the Blazers will agree to anything Comcast wants.

Root, Fox Sports, Streaming, no one else can offer anything close to what Comcast can.

They can offer exposure and a happier fan base.

Blazers ran a $5mill deficit last year, this new TV contract will be what finally makes this small market franchise turn a profit. Making Paul Allen happy and getting a fat bonus is what is important.
Paul Allen makes up for loses with Blazers with major profits with the Seahawks, I really doubt money is an issue to him. Especially 5m which is basically a drop in the bucket.

Jody Allen has made sure the days of SPAM are long over with the Blazers.

It was a popular expression in the Blazers front office.

And it can be on the Satellites IF the Blazers require it to be so. Otherwise, probably won't happen. A cable company can make more, charge more if they don't put it on the Satellites.
The ball is in the Blazers court, get the games to the whole area, or ignore like last time. The Warriors did it right. Damn! Wish hope the Blazers do.

It's running about 4 Mbps down now. .9 up It runs about 1.6 Mbps down during the day/evening. Which is much faster than we had before we could get the DSL

Wow, that is not very fast.

That sucks for being in Portland.
I think we have like the entry level comcast internet. Don't even know to tell you the truth. I do know it takes a second to buffer when floating on Netflix......

Call Comcast, tell them the HCP needs more speed.

And then what do I do with this stuff?

Well, Roots did offer the Mainers a 2 billion dollar deal over 17 years, which is slightly more than 20 million per year.

So if Roots wanted to, they could offer more. They just didn't expect Comcast to go ape shit in 07, and offer significantly more $$ than they were.

As for the profitability of the team, were are you hearing they lost 5 million?

All that said, I suspect the Blazers care little to none about who can watch the games and only care about who gives them the most $$, and if thats comcast (under the same circumstances as the current contract) thats what they'll sign. Money talks and bullshit walks.
