My bad, Blazers lost $10mill last year.

that link was not current.

Comcast is the most hated company in the United States. I refuse to give them my money. If Google comes to Portland, even more people will dump Comcast. If we can't watch the games, their numbers will drop. Out of sight, out of mind.

It is definitely a reason why Im not as big of a fan as i used to be.

Yup. When I could just throw the game on, I would watch, but now I have to go searching for a stream. Sometimes I just skip it.

On my powerline ethernet to the modem across the room, I get 18/12.

If I plugged in directly, I'd get 128/10... but that's cumbersome and I really don't need that much. Just need the upload for streaming.

The fact that hundreds of other content providers are able to reach mutually beneficial agreements with the satellite companies, but Comcast couldn't find a way--over 10 years, with consistent pressure from the Blazers, their fans, and the media--to make a deal with either one of them, suggests to me that the problem was primarily on Comcast's end

Last I checked, DirectTV and Dish havent been able to reach an agreement with the Pac 12 Network either. Hmmmmm.

Well, Roots did offer the Mainers a 2 billion dollar deal over 17 years, which is slightly more than 20 million per year.

So if Roots wanted to, they could offer more. They just didn't expect Comcast to go ape shit in 07, and offer significantly more $$ than they were.

As for the profitability of the team, were are you hearing they lost 5 million?

All that said, I suspect the Blazers care little to none about who can watch the games and only care about who gives them the most $$, and if thats comcast (under the same circumstances as the current contract) thats what they'll sign. Money talks and bullshit walks.

Different scenario. Root would own the broadcast, own all the commercial inventory etc. With the Comcast deal, the Trail Blazers own the broadcast, they get the money from Comcast and the money from the commercials they sell to the companies we see during the games like Moda, Les Schwab, Standard TV, Wells Fargo, etc

Pac-12 network is available on Dish. I know, because I've watched it.

Can we just get them a deal with someone else so we don't have to hear KITT-TEN EVER AGAIN!!!! :MARIS61:

Actually, dish has had an agreement with Pac 12 almost since the start

So what would you guys be willing to pay per game to watch the Blazers?

I think $5/game is more than fair. That totals $410. Maybe offer a season package for $299.

That's about half of what I pay Comcast for ayear's subscription. I don't get why people want it this way so badly.

$150 for the season and I'd do it. Then pro rate it as the season goes on.

Any more than that and they are comcasting it.

I guess I'm cheap. My thought was $99 for the season, or $3.99 per game.
