Jason Quick, but still:

This whole situation reminds me of the time BRoy got hurt before the PHX series and came back 6 days after tearing his meniscus. ugh

Was never really the same after that

WAY different injury. Not even close to the same. I can't think of a single player in any sport that has ever suffered a career ending broken fibula. Shit, Paul George completely snapped his fibula and his tibia completely in half and was back to playing like an all star a year later. That's a much more serious injury - a complete break of both lower leg bones, including the much larger, load bearing tibia.

Joe Thiesmann's famous career ending broken leg was a compound fracture of both lower leg bones. Both bones were shattered on impact. However, it was the tibia that wouldn't heal sufficiently for him to resume his career. He was 36 at the time, so he probably didn't have much longer to play anyway. Unless Lawrence Taylor is suiting up and blitzing in full helmet and pads, I don't think we have to worry about Nurk receiving that kind of impact.

Other than things like navicular bones in the feet, most broken bones heal stronger than before the injury. Nukic has a non-displaced fracture that didn't require surgery, or even walking on crutches. He played an entire game, and played well, after hurting the leg. He'll be fine.

Ah well, that was one of the best games of the B-Roy era. Rocky theme played and the crowd was stunned he got off the bench. Historic moment of Blazer fandom.

Smh, @Boob-No-More I obviously know that a meniscus injury is different from Nurk's problem. I'm not that stupid. Good lord-- no need for that huge ass post pointing out these differences.

I just am pointing out a star player going down so close to the playoffs and fans waiting on pins on needles wondering when he'll return draws parallels to BRoy.

Everyone is sooooooo paranoid though.

Boob 2 cents.

Anyone else have concerns about Nurkic being out on the floor with Draymond "bush league" Green?

You know, it's funny (or maybe not so much...), I've had a vision playing in my head of Green kicking Nurk in the leg out of frustration, and breaking that Fibula completely in half; and Nurk dropping holding his leg in agony.

If that happens......I can honestly see myself launching my body at my TV or computer screen while wailing in fury, forming myself into a flaming stream of light as my consciousness hurdles through the airwaves and signal connections at light speed, transmitting through the production equipment, through the camera; wherein my body would become whole once more as I would launch myself through the air, land on the court........and proceed to kick the ever loving fuck out of donkey lips with my bare hands.

I think I would honestly be mad enough to do it. Really.

My father is going to get tickets for a playoff game. I swear to sweaty Jesus....if Green kicks or very obviously injures Nurk in that leg.....pops better hold me back. I think I might actually get arrested for the first time in my life.

If he did that, it should be a half season suspension at least.

You know....I thought so too. But.....this is GS we're talking about. Star players and all.

I could see the league giving Green a smack on the hand, and a lengthy suspension to the Portland players who would undoubtedly riot the moment Nurk hit the floor.

That's why we need an end of the roster guy who's built as fuck to come fuck Draymond up if he pulls shit like that. Let the players on the court chill and this enforcer sprint onto the court and knock that SOB out.

I agree with Rick Barry. "I would never take the chance with somebody you knew was valuable to your future. Not to play in a series that you knew your chances were remote to win even if everything was going your way," Barry said. "I'd look to the future."

Even if there is only a 5% chance of re-injuring the leg or getting a new injury because he is not in the best shape (exacerbated by the two week layoff), why take that chance?

Not a snowballs chance in hell. If Green maliciously targeted and injured a player with indisputable evidence he would be in deep shit. He's already gotten enough slaps on the wrist, Adam Silver would come down on him like the Hammer of Thor.

I think Westley Matthews was that guy, just not "end of the roster" status obviously. Built like a tank, and moved fast.
