Mike Richman on his podcast also said he thinks Nurk will play game 1 after talking to him. But there's nothing concrete to back this claim.
if Nurkic told Mike hell be ready, then hell play, and if the doctor says hes not ready, Nurkic will make him an offer he cant refuse!

Let's be honest here, we're on the Cubs/Cavs/old Red Sox level for bad luck here. And our failures have a lot more to do with curses than incompetence.

Just doesn't get as much pub.

Exactly. Warriors fans and everyone who hates the Blazers already have the job of wishing harm to this team. The position has been filled. They don't need 'your help'.

Papa Nurkic just needs to be looking over the shoulder of the doc as he's examing the xray and say "it looks good .....right doc". Problem solved.

You think this will intimidate the doctor into clearling Nurk but you're wrong...

It will intimidate the injury into healing on the spot.

If you're going to believe in one kind of magical thinking why not the another?
Is it not obvious? Curses are the intentional transferrence of negative energy and consequences from one party to another for a specific reason and purpose. There is a source and a result. It's magical thinking, but there is some sort of logic behind it.

Jinxes imply that the universe arbitrarily acts in opposition to you based on a random comment. Believing in such requires an enormous level of pessimism and arrogance to believe that simply speaking positivity is sufficient for whatever prevailing higher powers exist to seek to prevent that good from occurring.

It's perfectly understandable why someone would believe in curses but not jinxes.

They're both completely devoid of logic. The assignment of causality to mysterious unseen forces that cannot be observed or tested.

Couldn't have said it better.

If you insist in interpreting through your own personal sphere of understanding, sure. If you're willing to step outside yourself for a bit, you might be able to see how one could differentiate one from the other.

I'm confused. Is religion a curse or a jinx?

I would seriously be ok with him getting kicked out for drilling the shit out of Green
Nah, that's what Meyers is for! With one punch he could redeem his entire career and win back all the fans that scorn his every breath.

I can see how you could differentiate the two, but differentiating the two requires making one's own rules about what kind of "magic" (for lack of a better word about forces that can't be observed, measured or reasoned about) is sensible and realistic and what kind of magic isn't. Which is still a lot to swallow for someone who doesn't share your rules.

In other words, I think it's fair to say, "It's internally consistent to believe in curses but not jinxes," but it's also fair to say, "Even if it's internally consistent, you still need a layer of arbitrariness to reach that consistency."

All true. But we all approach life with our own sets of assumptions. What makes one person's arbitrariness selections better than another's? It's all about perception.

My point was never that it's more logical to believe in curses than jinxes; simply that it's not difficult to explain why someone might take that viewpoint.
