Great example of Fox's defensive ineptitude over the same 5 years, 162 hits. Adam's +/- is awful, 327 points scored but only a +95 so while K'Andre is a +49 he's scored 200 less points. GG and Lav both failed to get much scoring from the defense aside from Fox, hope Sullivan has a plan.

Watch the games dumbass. If you tell me Miller hits anybody hard you’re fucking clueless. I can’t ever remember him hitting somebody and being excited about it because he doesn’t hit anybody.

Especially considering Fox scores a lot of points on the PP, and he plays more minutes overall, and he plays against the other team's top line, I don't think stating he has essentially double the + rating of Miller over the past 5 years tells the story you think it does Panzer.

Look, I have been critical of Fox also, he has not been the same player he was 2 or 3 years ago since he got hurt last season, but I also realize Fox is without a doubt above Miller, that's just reality. He's a former Norris winner, he is close to the top in defensive points every season, and he plays more minutes against the best players than Miller does, again that's all just reality. That doesn't mean if Miller improves his game he couldn't catch or be better than Fox, if Fox doesn't get back to his highest level/his game declines more, but right now today Fox has been and is better than Miller. The numbers show it, and I would say if you watched them play it shows as well.

For better or worse, for his size Miller absolutely does play soft. That may be acceptable, or you can live with it, in that his game isn't built on hitting or being physical, it's more about smooth skating a long reach and moving the puck quickly, but it is troubling when he is also making a lot of mistakes and not scoring points and not being physical despite his size.

Don Lagreca think the Rangers should deal Panarin, especially because the odds of getting Zibanejad to waive his NMC and getting a team to take on his bad contract is very unlikely:

Lagreca has the answer, but it’s a bigger bombshell and, perhaps, even more difficult to pull off than trying to force Zibanejad out of town.

“What I keep coming back to, and it’s a major splash but I think it’s something that probably needs to happen, is do they address the possibility of trading Artemi Panarin?,” Lagreca asked. “He’s got a year left on his contract, he’s very attractive to some teams. If Chris Drury and Mike Sullivan want a north-south team, he’s not a north-south guy. So, as much as you’d hate to give up a guy that’s your leading scorer, is that the move that could now make it more J.T. Miller’s team?”

I do think with only one season left Panarin is much easier to trade and get good value for, and with only one season left, I think Panarin would be much more open to waiving his NMC knowing he can leave wherever he goes after next season if he doesn't like it there. While I have not been a big advocate for dealing Panarin, as I have said many times ANYTHING is on the table to me, and if the best way to shake up the core, and get some value back, is deal Panarin, I'm on board. Plus, it is HIGHLY unlikely he is re-signed, so he's gone after next season anyway AND trading him takes a huge $11.642M off the cap and gives Drury great flexibility this summer. Could be a win win, and allow the Rangers to add better North-South type players, less skill for more bite, which the Rangers need badly.

On Krieder, I may view trading him differently than some. If I could get out from the remaining two years of his $6.5M per deal, I would trade him for nothing, getting the cap flexibility is worth trading him for a bag of pucks IMO. And with that said, I think the Rangers could get a decent 3rd line grinder for Kreider, which they badly need.

I am very focused on being open to dealing some skill for some grit and bite, it's what the Rangers lack big time, especially a playoff bite type 3rd line.

I like seeing this from Friedman:

“The Rangers are a team to keep an eye on the next few weeks,” NHL insider Elliotte Friedman said on the 32 Thoughts podcast. “Drury is telling teams he is ready for offers.”

“The Rangers are considering an awful lot of things,” Friedman said. “After the season they had last year, there are very few things that are off the table.”

BOLD BOLD BOLD - that's my key word for this offseason (aggressive is # 2).

Just have to hope Sullivan lights a fire under some of these guys to get on track. I saw something that Detroit and LA could be teams to watch for Miller.

There is no denying Adam's offensive ability, that's all he brings to the table and he's certainly the #1 dman on the Rangers but I think he's hit his ceiling, still think K'Andre has more potential than we've seen, after Fox I think he and Schneider are significantly better than any of the other defensemen on the roster. Last 3 postseasons the Rangers have been involved in Fox is goalless and with the amped up physicality of the playoffs an absolute zero defensively. I watch the games and bring stats to back my opinions while your argument against is you can't remember seeing any big hits by K'Andre while freely admitting you turn most games off early - good stuff as Chuck would say.

Miller is reported to be on the trade block from all sources. Rangers aren't moving a defenseman like that if he actually hit anybody with authority. He's Tom Poti 2. Pussy. His girlfriend is a high maintenance bitch as well. Get rid of him at all costs.

I had no idea K'Andre's girlfriend was high maintenance, another piece of Dumpecdotal evidence. The Rangers don't have anyone on their defensive unit that hits with authority, Miller had 150 more hits than Lindgren who is a defensive minded player. The NHL stat for hits has nothing to do with intensity, simply a legal check that causes a turnover. Look at the defensemen on the Rangers roster, there is a huge drop in talent after Schneider/Miller. I'm hoping Robertson gets a contract offer from Drury, I think he could crack the lineup if he can stay healthy.

Physical play aside, I don't disagree with your overall point Panzer, Miller clearly has very good untapped/unrealized potential. The questions to me can he get there, and how long will it take to get there if he does. I think the Rangers absolutely owe it to themselves to look into all options with Miller considering its sort of a now or never moment as he'll get a new long deal this summer, you have to do that due diligence now IMO.

I am very clear, I would not trade Miller unless I can get a very solid return that fills needs of the roster, grit, bite, size etc.

Is there any sport with more ridiculous unfounded trade rumors than hockey? There are not a lot of decent free agent defensemen available this offseason, K'Andre is a better option than most of them being significantly younger. Trading him away makes an already weak defensive unit borderline inept.

From my POV, I only deal Miller for a very good return, and to your point the Rangers need to have a clear plan to add a dman to replace him. I have been advocating for them to add a legit 1st pair LD partner for Fox and move Schneider into the top 4 to play with Borgen. Combine that with trading Miller for a very good return and dealing Kreider and replacing him with some bite and grit for the 3rd line, that's my plan.

Please. K dickhead and Zibanedouche must’ve lost this team at least 15 games last year with their incompetent fucking turnovers.

I kinda think Kreider will have a good season with full rest and maybe some refocus+Sully.

If CK was playing with a severe back injury he didn't do himself or the Rangers any favors trying to play through it. By the end of the season Lav was giving him limited 4th line minutes deservedly so yet he kept CK on PP1 the whole season. When he's healthy CK is an elite guy to plant in front of the net but his body may not be able to take the punishment anymore.

More reports coming out about how K’Andre shithead is absolutely gonna get dealt. Thank God.

Bennett absolutely will get 10 million in free agency but I doubt Florida will let him go. He'll get a huge tax break there and the Panthers retain their core guys. They will let other players walk to keep him. Unless, being a Canadian he wants to finish his career in Canada. Flames had both Bennett and Tkachuk. Boy did they fuck that up.

The Panthers have so many players built for the playoffs, they did a great job putting that team together. Marchand was the best trade DL add as well, he fits like a glove, and I wouldn't be surprised if he signs long term in Florida.

Was that report from a source close to K'Andre's high maintenance girlfriend? These reports and trade rumors are mostly lazy writer's fiction, there are no repercussions for inaccuracy, It would be nice to see Drury sign a few RFAs while he's waiting for all those offers to come in, at least lock up Rempe and Robertson.

Yeah, the trade rumors are non-stop and I have to imagine largely unsubstantiated. Yesterday one of the youtube channels that covers the Rangers implied the Rangers would be trading for Jason Robertson. I don't bother watching the videos anymore...it's click-bait bullshit.

Our rangers are in trouble. Our older players outside of panerin not producing, our young players like laf, Kandre and yes even fox seem vastly overrated to me based on their salary and production, not much cap to spend and what's worse is imo we have one of the worst gm's in hockey in Drury and a clueless owner who seemingly has given drury carte blanche to continue wrecking the team. We are gonna be in for a long season! :dammit::dammit::dammit::dammit::dammit:

All you have to do is watch a couple of videos or see some pictures of K'shithead's girlfriend and it's self explanatory. That guy will be more useless when gets a big contract than Zibanejad which is almost impossible to do.

Exactly why we should not keep this years draft pick in a crap draft with the 2026 draft being so strong.

I’m hearing the same. Don’t want to put any names out there without confirmation, but framework is prospect and a pick coming back to #NYR with Ducks taking Kreider’s full $6.5M AAV.

Sources say #NYR and #NHLDucks are in advanced discussions on a deal that would send Chris Kreider to Orange County. No semantics: there is NO DEAL at this moment in time. But there is interest - and a framework. Both teams had other irons in the fire today. We'll see on Wed.

This would be a great start by Drury if it happens and they get rid of Kreider's full $6.5M for the next two seasons.

CK has a modified 15 team no trade list so the question would be are the Ducks on the list? It would be nice to move CK's salary to make room for McDavid.

One reason they said he'd accept a trade to the Ducks is Trouba, Vatrano, and Strome are all there already, so it would be a comfortable place for him. Plus, unless it would be a terrible situation for him, I think Kreider wants to do right by the Rangers after all these years.
