LOL...and that says it all.

I am not blaming the players. The effort was there, they really did best they could. I blame AV and GM!

No comeback for that type of logic....the effort was there as we had 45 shots in the last two home games and didn't score for over 144 minutes...that's on the coach for sure...LOL.

The guy is good enough to make the ECF and the SCF's twice (got to game 7 on his own ice in one of them), but not good enough to win the cup as a coach. Again the logic is there for sure.

Love it 2009...please keep the good stuff coming.

And BTW...I am not saying AV is the best coach in the world. I am not saying he doesn't have things to learn and things he can do differently, he clearly does, but I do think he is a good coach with a good track record, and a great two years here.

Maybe he will lead us to a cup, and maybe not, I don't know, but I do know his results in two years here have been very good and I won't get on him now. Maybe that changes after next year or the year after, but right now I cannot get on him.

Only thing I hated was MSL on the PP. Once he moved MSL down with Hags and Hayes I had no other issues with AV.

He doesn't learn. How did Boston beat Vancouver? It wasn't even close in game 6 and game 7. Boston thugs won the Cup. He doesn't learn because he is doing the same here. Two of the top3 Ds were hurt Chuck.

There is more that what you see. They make safe plays because they are injured and have no confidence in their legs. Why do you think during the season when opposing team scores a goal Rangers do not panic and score within few minutes. What is that magic? No, they are healthy and have talent to do so. During playoffs they are hurt because there is always that last resort that others can use against this team. Had McD been healthy, I think we would have won game 7. He is the reason why we beat the Caps.

And by the way MLS on PP is major reason why we are eliminated. It is the little adjustments like that, which makes a difference between winning and losing. AV is the head coach not Scott Arniel.

Bottom line is despite chucks and studs comments until AV wakes up and has big mac up here crap like stamkos pulled all playoffs blasting Mcd twice from behind into boards probably breaking his foot in the process and guys running henrik at will aren't going to stop. Big mac after the first Mcd hit would have broken stamkos face and anyone else on the lightning that came to his aid and the shit would have stopped. And stop already that the kid can't skate. Mac was top 2 d-man all season down below excelling on pk and playing every other shift at end of games to protect leads. He is not kreider on skates.(who the hell is) But the kid is a more than adequate skater who is a punishing hitter, wins the one on one puck battles on the boards, a crease clearer and someone no one on the other team wants to be near when he is on the ice. I see all these other teams with lurches on D with no problem and this kid as he did in the ahl this year will adapt and get better as he gains experience. Our defense is supposed to be this mobile, fast crew. Staal, girardi, boyle mobile and fast. Give me a friggin break already. Our toughness on D needs to be up here this fall. Sather needs to tell AV work with the kid, develop him further, whatever you want but the kid is coming up here and also needs to trade or waive glass so av can't use him anymore. Lindberg is a 100 times better. Chuck, I don't want to see msl here if he agrees to play for a dollar. Was great for a long time but too small and completely sucks now. Hags needs to go also via trade as we need more size and to have money for kreids and hayes coming up which is another reason why boyle has to go.
I think Mel is right on! MSL needs to retire or play elsewhere. Absolutely no reason not to give big mac a chance.

Even moving Marty down he did nothing.

So now he doesn't learn, it is all his fault, and it is on him that a player got hurt. YES damn you AV for breaking McD's foot. Good stuff 09...didn't realize AV could control all that.

As for Mac...HE CANNOT SKATE AT AN NHL LEVEL. Not sure why that is so difficult for you guys to understand. If he improves his skating by all means get him up here and let him be the 7th dman and learn the NHL game that way playing here and there and practicing with the pros. I am all for that.

And the comical stuff about injuries is laughable. AGAIN did Wilson run Isles players yes or no? YES. Did OV run Isles players yes or no? YES. Are the Isles one of the toughest teams in the NHL? YES. Did it stop the Caps? NO.

The fact that you guys think a rookie dman like Mac will stop teams from playing their game is COMICAL.

As for MSL there is only one way I want him back.

Hags prices himself out of here AND MSL takes 1.7-2 mill for one season to come back.

That is the only way I even think about MSL coming back.

Exactly RagFan4Ever. Move MSL to fourth line, bring up your beloved Glass even, at least he would have won the board battles. Instead he does nothing and continues hoping to have a different result and then saying stupid stuff during press conference by summarizing the game. Do something different. Game 5 sucked, change something for game 7. Nothing is done.

And yes, it is on him and Glen Sather that players got hurt. Absolutely! 100%. Bring the guys who will protect others and stop these hits from behind. Since NHL today is the way it is, then we need to police ourselves. If in 10 years NHL changes it ways and start calling those penalties then AV will be a perfect head coach who could actually win. It today's NHL he stands no chance.

No MLS. Not even free. He is done. AV will keep playing him on PP and result will be the same. The guy needs to retire and take Boyle with him. Boyle may go from 39 to 50 in one year also just like MLS. Get those old guys out of here. And no Williams either. He will come here to die as well just like everyone else. Stop with these old guys. Enough of that.

PLEASE I beg you KEEP POSTING 2009...this is awesome stuff.

Bump MSL down to the 4th line and move Glass up. It is 100% on AV and Sather that McD broke his foot.

This is awesome bro. Please keep posting.

This is a win now team, Williams is good fit for what we lack, I doubt we can afford him though.

Vigneault did all he could for them, they just didn't find a way to make it happen. In FA Fehr might be someone i'd look at for his $$.

Keep Hags OR MSL (for cheap). Sign Williams or a similar righty gritty top 9 winger. Deal Talbot for something useful. Try and get rid of Glass if you can. Decide what to do with Boyle, I can go either way. If you want him gone, sign a cheaper vet to be the 6th dman with a kid here as the 7th.

Drop the puck and let's go...

MLS was done. He couldn't make one play. He lost every board battle even on PP. During game 7 on PP, Rangers were moving puck really well, it came to MSL and just like on that 5 on 3 PP one of the PKs muscled his way onto MLS and cleared the puck. That was important play IMO. I am not saying bring up Glass instead of MSL, I am saying "DO SOMETHING" different. HE DOES NOTHING. He just stands there keep running the same play over and over.

He told Nash and CK don't do whatever it takes to make some lanes around the net, and keep firing the puck from the sides on the pp, Bishop has no shot at stopping floaters.

I hated MSL on the PP, so I agree there for sure. To me MSL at 1.7 mill on the 3rd line, used in the right role by AV, would be fine. But I would only entertain that if we have to move on from Hags because he wants too much money.

No MSL. Hags is fine as long as he is below 3.5M. No Williams, please. No any Vet on D instead of Boyle. Get Dion Phanuef if they can renegotiate his contact perhaps instead of McD. I only agree on Glass.

Oh my lord...now you want to renegotiate contracts, which you cannot do AND even better get Phaneuf instead of McDonagh.

My god you are the gift that keeps on giving 2009...LOL.

And I wouldn't go a dime above 3 mill for Hags.

Yeah this is not the NFL. The contract is the contract.

Chuck, do not want mL back for free. He now officially sucks, looks like a pee wee player on ice, destroyed our first pp, blew on defense, couldn't win the puck from you in the corner and absolutely CANNOT be on this team next season. Boyle needs to go via trade or buyout. Mcilreith needs to be the 6th defenseman on this team next season. With his attractive 2.6m salary this season Yandle needs to go right now and bring back tough scoring right winger or high first round pick plus as we are not fitting his 5.5 plus salary demands for season after on our cap and bring ski up in his place. Lindbergh needs to be up on the 4th line next season. Hags is another one did nothing in the playoffs and his size is a detriment. Sometime will be enamored by his speed and give us a first rounder or a gritty winger for him. Biggest decision is Nash who imo needs to have his soft ass traded out of here. Only question is if you can get anything remotely resembling fair value for him and the second question is if that even matters if the bottom line is he's gone with that enormous albatross of a salary with him. They should also see what kind of buyout they can arrange with buch's russian team so that he can start his ranger career next year here on right wing. I think this team has a lot of good young players in place but also needs more than one or 2 tweaks next season to get over the hump and win the cup next year

Too much mel. They are not getting rid of MSL, getting rid of Boyle, getting rid of Yandle, playing way unproven McIlrath as the 6th dman, also playing unproven Skjei as the 5th dman, get rid of Hags, get rid of Nash.

That is ridiculous mel. Love you bro, but it is. You are way over the top right now, and I get it because you are angry, but they are not making all these changes and playing two unproven kids on D. Yandle is an asset at 2.6 mill, one they plan on using to their cap advantage next season.

I know the knee jerk reaction is break it all down and bring in these new players, but that is 100% the wrong thing to do here. Keep it simple and get rid of MSL or Hags and replace them with a gritty firery top 9 right shot winger. Do that and I believe they will be set to go.

Then decide what you want to do with Boyle AND can they get out from under Glass and maybe give Sheppard the same deal to be in the 4th line mix with Moore/Lindberg/Fast.

Chuck, forgot to add Sather needs to kick himself up to president only, step back and let gorton be the official gm. Once he's in he makes the changesI suggested and by the way the guys I'm saying need to be replaced outside of msl and boyle will bring back the necessary pieces and components that we are lacking now. Can't sit back and do the same shit again next year. By the way sitting outside poolside in St.Maartens now, here for the next 2 weeks, sun just came up a little while ago and still pissed off i'm not watching the rangers over next 2 weeks here battling for the cup.

I agree with your GM comment...Sather should step up stairs this summer.

Like I said, you are angry and I get it. They are not changing that many players on this team, and thank god for that. Go win a cup, and we want you to play two unproven rookies on D...NOT HAPPENING.

Not making all those changes upfront either.

Have fun down there...like I said I get your anger, but the answer isn't break up the team and bring in all these new players.

If I said to you the firery gritty leader on the Rangers is???

Who would you say? I don't have an answer. The only guy that fits that role is Hank, and he is a goalie so cannot truly be that guy. That is what the Rangers lack and MUST add him this summer. Hopefully in the form of a top 9 righty shot winger.

Chuck, didn't tampa have 2 new players on d this year unless I'm mistaken. Glad your up now as no one is awake here yet lol

Yes...but not two unproven rookies mel. You didn't say get Stralman and Coburn. You said let's play two unproven rookies on D and expect to win a cup...NOT HAPPENING.

My own opinion is best case one of them is the 7th dman next season. I don't see the Rangers playing them as the 6th dman, but who knows. I can promise you it won't be both though.

McD, G, Staal, Klein, and Yandle will be the top 5...I am 95% sure of that.

I was thinking the 6'7" lurch guy can't think of his name and someone else not strahlman or coburn.

Sustr? He played last season as well. They did not add two unproven rookies into their D this season and say have fun as our 3rd pair.

Ok. my bad. Didn't get much sleep last night ha ha ha. But their is a first time for everything.

Yeah, and it isn't a SC type team saying hey let's get rid of proven dmen and play McIlrath and Skjei as our 3rd pair...:).
