I know he had TOs............ but he got us 13/8/9! How is that a "joke"?

33% shooting and 7 TO's is bad. He did rebound and assist so I'll give him that.

If last night was a "bad" game for Batum then he deserves every cent of his contract.

Batum threw a couple bad passes and took a couple bad shots but he didn't "suck ass" and we wouldn't have won the game without him. He's expanding his role to becoming a playmaker and there will be mistakes along the way but we are definitely benefitting from his efforts. He also had a great hockey assist where he passed to Pav who passed to Hickson for the dunk. Highlight of the game.

+1...

Took my wife and kids to the game. It wasn't a great game, but it was a win. Lillard started off poorly, but boy did he pick it up in the second half. He is my wife's new favorite player. Her previous favorite was Gary Payton after I took her to her first game at OSU.

My favorite 'doh' moment of the game was a play where LaMarcus committed a hard foul under the basket, and they called Leonard's number, and the score keeper assessed him the foul. Leonard was standing there as they were getting ready to shoot the free throw, and he kept pointing at LaMarcus across the key and pleading with the ref that the foul should have been on LaMarcus. Talk about a rookie moment. LOL. Finally, the refs conferred and changed the foul to LaMarcus. I was yelling at Meyers to SHUT UP and take the foul. OMG. I don't care if Leonard is sitting on the bench, if LaMarcus commits a foul, Meyers should raise his hand. Rookies.

HCP: Do you know if any players mentioned this little incident to young Meyers?

Sometimes with "it" or "glue" guys its not always about the stats (although every coach the league will take a near triple double) but rather a simple eye test. You could clearly see that overall Batum was having a big positive effect on the game. Just like stats alone don't show how much Lillard has "it" when it comes to poise and clutch.

Nope. Not last night.

I'm sure players don't come back early from injuries because of what anonymous people say on a message board.

I did not use the words "anonymous people on message boards". But yeah I think some players do care what the fans and media say. Obviously LMA is not one of them, but for every LMA you have a Carlos Boozer. Fans are often oblivious to how injuries can effect one's play. They don't want any excuses. Just a good PER.

Since when are 8 assists, 7 boards and 2 steals not a positive contribution?

There were a lot of help plays that didn't show up in the stats either. He was pivotal in pressuring the terrible 3 pointer to end the game. Had a couple moves and passes that made an extra pass for a basket. He didn't get credited for the assist; but was just as important.

When you shoot 33% and have 7 really bad turnovers to go with it.

Yet he still had a 1.2 turn over to assist ratio. Also his shots weren't forced. They were just off. Happens to the best players in the league.

I'm just saying he had a bad game. My brother and I were at the game and we were just shaking our heads at how dumb his TO's were.

You got a point; but I'd rather him take chances without knowing the coach will yank him like Nate used to do. Eventually; he will find his timing and distribution skills. If Nate didn't have him in such a choke hold; he would probably be a much better distributor now. We gotta roll with it for now. Maybe if he is still playing out of control 2 years from now; we shouldn't be concerned IMO.

He's the best passer on P&R that we have, and that says more about how good Nic is than anything about Dame.

This is the most ridiculous statement I've seen on here in a while. Batum is not even good at passing on the P&R, let alone close to as good as Lillard.
