For those surprised that Scoot isn't playing: find me the highest profile non-rookie who IS playing. I'm waiting...
Keon Johnson, he has first round value, and he picks up guys full court.

??? I don't see this at all. Scoot was averaging 18 ppg towards the end of the season there - I don't see Brandon Miller playing on the Hornets SL team.

It all depends on what you think the point of the SL team is. If we're honest, there isn't much point, except for unattached players trying to get invited to NBA training camps or get overseas teams to offer them contracts.
Brandon miller is playing

I looked at most of the Summer League rosters. Being a supposedly bad draft class, I'll keep my expectations low.

ya right !!
Clingan will average 20/20 in 20

So the head clown drove the clown car off the cliff.
Go back and read the shit yourself. When you figure out what is being said I’ll accept apology.
I have no clue what you are trying to say...

But Miller is playing in Vegas as stated in the article provided

I was simply making a joke. (Obviously a bad one)
I honestly don't think Brandon Miller being on their summer league roster with an asterisk for "Vegas only" as provided in the link correlates much toward Scoot playing or being on the Blazers roster. We already know where Scoot is practicing and who he is practicing with. We already know what he is working on and why. He's going to continue working in LA with Jordan Coleman on that three point shooting and both hands at the rim and handling the double. The pick up games are astounding by the way.

Here is a tip however if you happen to be down there next week Scoot will be present at some point as will a bunch of other NBA players. I will only be there the 12th and 13th.
Looking for players? Try the Wynn.

Yes, the organized pickup games are said to be far superior to the games fans can attend. Scoot most certainly will be in Vegas. That is his team. He will probably be more of an assistant coach than whomever is being paid to do so. Scoot will also be involved in the pickup games. He will certainly be going through individual workouts with Blazers staff there.

Carr Academy has a U-17 tournament this week there on the 12th and 13th. We have tune up tourney this weekend at Reynolds. The kids are absolutely stoked about Vegas. This should be a blast!

Best of luck in the tournament. Wish I could be there. I haven't been back for summer league since the Roy/Aldridge draft. Too much business, not enough fun. Hoping that changes for next season. Enjoy, and someone start a summer league thread for all of you attending to coordinate meet ups and posting photos in for us that will not be there.

Scoot not playing is disappointing only from a selfish standpoint. I'm hoping that he'll be in Vegas practicing with the team and scrimmaging, just so he is getting familiar with Clingan.

This decision by the team isn't shocking in the least bit. They had two pressers since the draft and during both of them took the chance to drive home that Scoot and Shaedon are the cornerstones of this team. What non-rookie who has been deemed one of the two players any team is building around is going to be playing in SL? This is almost just a reiteration of Joe and Chauncey's commitment to making Scoot a focal point of this team now and in the future. He's a guy that started 32 games last season and played 62 averaging over 28 minutes per game. He's not the same level of reps in SL, he'll get his reps in the pre-season and regular season.

Yeah, I wanted him to play as well because watching Summer League would have been more interesting. I spent $75 on a streaming package this month so I got most of the games. But from a development standpoint, the 4-5 games in Vegas means nothing.
