The best pure scorer on the market is Carmelo Anthony. Would you trade Nic and Wes to get him?

D coordinators would pull their hair out scheming for us.

O coordinators would jizz in their pants scheming for us

Yup. I'm just saying, in terms of pure scorers, Anthony is by far the best on the market.

Who would you sign?

*Avery Bradley
*Patty Mills
*Segio Rodriguez

Who would you trade for?

*Isiah Thomas (s&t)
*Iman Shumpert
*Larry Sanders
*Jae Crowder

If you could trade into the draft, who would you draft?

*Lotto: Dario Saric
*mid/late: TJ Warren/Kristaps Porzingis
*early second round: Walter Tavares/Vasilje Micic
*mid/late second round: Patric Young

The entire bench is expendable, but I'd prefer to keep McCullum to watch him another year. With his injury in college, and again in the NBA, it's hard to say what we really have with him. If the right trade presented itself, I'd certainly consider it. But I wouldn't shop him.

I'd love to see Sergio return. One big weakness he had when he played for us was his outside shot. This link says he was ranked fourth in the Euro league in three-point shooting accuracy (48.8%). Wow.

yep, that's why I said it's not realistic. However, for the OPTIMISTIC fan, Oladipo only had a PER of 14.1 himself, and is really an SG - a position where they have an established player.

CJ looked like gahbage coming back from his injury.

In his defense, that injury should've kept him out all year.

Orlando hangs up.

1.) Find out what LMA wants to do
2.) If you find a workable deal for a draft pick do it
3.) Acquire a back up point guard, a rebounding center, and a
defense-minded small forward
4.) Pay people to beat Meyers Leonard up.

Is Joe Johnson still on that ridiculous contract? I would look at bringing him in if Bkyn blows it up as a legit 3rd option, but with that contract I'm sure there's no way.

EDIT: Nevermind I see he still has 3 years remaining

Pretty sure Euro's 3 is @ 20ft. Where the NBA's is at 24.9ft.

Shawn Livingston looks to have recovered from nearly losing his leg. He's got size to play the point or either wing position.
If he's willing to come off the bench and backup either of those three positions would be good.

Not a fan of trading Wes. Although I was disappointed in his shooting in the playoffs this year. Huston series out of the equation.
he only shot 33% from 3 against the Spurs? Not good enough.
Although still have to look @ all options for him.
Waiters is an interesting idea. But I remember reading the Cavs were overpricing their assets.
Avery Bradly is also an interesting target. Although I don't see the Celtics getting rid of him.
Afllalo can be had for a pick before the deadline I assume. But what does he give you that Wes doesn't?
If really want to upgrade the 2 then have to find a legit great player.

As far as upgrading the bench? I don't see it happening this year.
Most of the players listed in previous posts are Starting caliber players, or are due big paydays.
Best chance to improve here is get Barton/CJ playing well at the start of the season, then trade them away.
But the homer crowd will want them to stay or LBJ.

Does CJ even have any value to shop with?

What resources do I have? Cap space etc?

The starting lineup is untouchable for one more year. I think we owe it to these five to give them one more year or two together before we decide to upgrade any position. The chemistry in this lineup is outstanding. They like if not love each other and splitting them up would be like splitting you up closely bonded brothers at a young age. I wouldn't have the heart. I would use whatever resource I have to upgrade the bench. But I need to know what I have to spend.

You have what the Blazers currently have. MLE(5.3). BAE(2.07). Vet minimum deals. non-bird rights on Mo. Our roster as trade assets.

Aaron Afflalo's name keeps popping into my head. Way out of our league given our tradeable assets, but that's the prototype I'm thinking of as a guy to pair with Damian.

I agree.

Our bench has virtually no trade value. And the only way we could get Afflalo would be to trade LMA. We'd have to start t-rob at PF and we'd be able to bring Matthews off the bench which would be nice. It's a guard's league.

MLE: Marvin Williams
BAE: Nate Robinson
Re-Sign Mo

Oh god... if Mo is back next year I might go completely bald.

What the...

Aldridge for Afflalo? Seriously?

I really like the idea of trading for Hibbert. His contract is half over plus salaries would match next year so it's really only one extra season of guaranteed money. Especially if we can keep Lopez, they would be a lethal combo. I don't like the idea of giving up Wes if there is a way we can give them CJ, Trob, future draft picks instead. But ultimately I might have to pull the trigger if they insist on Wes.

Ariza or Kirilenko would be a great target with the full MLE. We need defense on the second unit, Nic can play at SG so a SF would be ideal.

If we have no shot at Ariza any interest in bringing Martell Webster back? I haven't watched his D lately but his shooting would fit great with Stotts and he was solid defender earlier in his career

I'm not against trading Wes and bringing in a wing like Ariza or Deng. Move Nic to shooting guard.

I still think I would try to trade for either Hibbert or Sanders with Wes as the centerpiece.

Dame
Nic
Ariza
LA
Hibbert

With Rolo coming off the bench along with TRob, Barton, and either Mo or another guard that we sign.

I like Aminu as an option if Pierce is not available. I am hoping CJ develops. I wouldn't trade into the draft.

If you want defense then go for Aminu and Collision and let Mo walk.

The unanswerable problem I see to the main complaints by mm is not solvable by free agency alone. We simply can't become a much better defensive team and make our bench more potent offensively by signing one mle player and a bae player. Enough offense and enough defense from 2 guys won't fix both problems as players with enough of both skills are very good starters elsewhere.
