assuming Phoenix doesn't blow their huge lead...I believe it is impossible for us to play the Nuggets in the first round. Yes!

We're looking at 17-24 spots now. So yep, Denver is out of play.
 
Can we absolutely avoid Utah? PLEASE?! Eh, either way, it's good that we likely won't play the Thuggets. After all, odds are in our favor that we win at least one game vs Utah, right?

Kidding aside, we'll give any team we play a serious, serious run. That I can guarantee.
 
Unless Den makes a miracle comeback they are the 5th seed and we can't play them now until the WCF.
 
No, the best Denver can do is 4th. At least I'm PRETTY sure....this is confusing!

If Dallas wins we play winner of Phoenix/Utah.

If San Antonio wins the 3 seed will be Phoenix (if Phoenix wins) or Dallas (if Utah wins)

If San Antonio wins and we lose we would play Dallas (if Phoenix wins) or Utah (if Utah wins)

They will be the 4th seed if Utah loses to Phoenix tomorrow but that is the highest they can go.

If no clear winner comes from all of this, sack races will be help on consecutive sundays.
 
I think we may all end up regretting it if we get Phoenix. They are hot and clicking on all cylinders.
 
We want San Antonio to win against Dallas. Then if utah wins we face dallas and if phenoix wins we face them.
 
It's crazy that if Dallas loses then:

Utah will be the 2nd seed with a win and the 5th seed with a loss.

That was almost exactly the same situation as last season. Denver, SA, and Portland all tied at #2, and Houston got the #5 seed by losing its last game.

Looking at the scenarios...and getting WAY ahead of myself....there is a decent chance San Antonio could pull a 2/7 upset over Dallas. Which would give us the home court if we could advance. Maybe I should remind myself to take it one day at a time.

The odds are that we will play Utah. Utah is at home against Phoenix, SA is at Dallas, and Portland is at home against the Warriors.


If the teams win that should win.....Utah, Dallas and Portland, we will play the Jazz

Yes, but the Suns have a pretty decent chance of beating the Jazz, and the Spurs shouldn't be huge underdogs to the Mavs either, so the overall odds of facing the Jazz or Suns are pretty close.

In another post, Tince presupposed the Jazz having a 55% likelihood of beating the Suns, the Mavs 60% odds of beating the Spurs, and the Blazers 90% likely to beat the Warriors. Under those percentages, we have about a 43% chance of getting the Suns in the first round, 35% chance of getting the Jazz, and 22% chance of getting the Mavs.

But if Utah and Dallas win (or seem very likely to) shouldn't we tank then? ANYTHING to avoid Utah.

If Utah and Dallas win, we can't avoid Utah. If Dallas wins, we're locked into the 6 seed, regardless of what we do.
