I should have been more clear. Some Mfg use turbo's to gain more power/torque out of small CI engines in passenger vehicles and trucks.
The biggest enemy to a turbo is heat, more so than the engine itself.
Some of the mid price trucks that use them have had numerous problems at one plenty or another with them. Some were not lasting 30K miles.
It a good way to lighten a truck and promote good torque however for towing through mountain passes.

I had a friend who bought a fairly new mid priced truck with one and had issues right away with it.
Google Turbo auto/truck engines problems.

There are high end products out there that have perfected therein turbos and are pretty dependable I guess.
Me want turbo.....for focus svt. Needs one or a supercharger bad bad bad.

Wait until they're older and a tire blows and totals your truck.

Oh! I forgot about that one! Yes I had a Ford 250, and blew the right rear tire out, It was and 8 ply and I was hauling a load.
Well that tire coming off the wheel in pieces took the whole damn side of the bed box off too. Nothing left but a few jagged piece hanging on the corner post and along the deck. I guess that aluminum wheel well is little shy of what you need. Never did see where all that went.
It was on I 84 near Boardman, probably doing over 70. Nothing but a huge noise and cloud of shit in the air as seen threw the Rear view mirror. The wind was blow like hell too, so that shit was airborne.

What year F250 did you have?

If you get the F150, get the extended bed. I think ours is 6'5" and it makes a huge difference.

We have the Eco Boost and while it doesn't make a huge impact on your MPG, it does help.

How do you like the Eco Boost? I hear it has good tongue for towing.
Can you hear the turbo kick in?

Thanks

Look close there are paddles on the tires!
My eyes are too old and too fucked up from a multitude of eye operations to make that out. I'm also focusing on all the idiots seated in the back yelling like fools just before they're all going to die.

1/2 ton pick up. Gaso.
Which is the best choice and why?

Standard Equipment

Silverado 1500
Sierra 1500
Ford F150
Ram 1500
Toyota Tundra
Nissan Titan

Thanks for your two bits
I know that the Wheeler Dealers like the Ram 1500. But it appeared to me to be more of a show off car with horsepower to spare. Got lousy gas mileage but was great in the 1/4 mile.

As I've personally seen an aluminum F150 that had a rear tire blowout cause MULTIPLE thousands of dollars in damage (looked like someone set off a grenade in the wheelhouse)....

I'd run from one of those things.

It got a new bed, replaced a cab corner and had repairs done on the rear door.

Bad enough with full coverage. Wait until they're older and a tire blows and totals your truck.
Now that is unusual!

Finally got done panning for another truck!

Found a cherry 2013 F150 Platinum with 32K miles one owner.
6.2 litre 3.73 Max Tow Package for town small 5th wheel.
Ruby Metallic

I couldn't believe what they wanted for a new one of exact spec's. Twice as much as this truck,

have any pictures?

The Doge looks the best IMO but I'm not a truck guy. I know I wouldn't go with the Ford simply because of the Aluminum bed.
My company used to buy armored personnel carriers that had a body made out of armored aluminum. They can make aluminum pretty tough if they want to.

I've seen a Ford aluminum bed that had a tire blow in it. Looked like half a pound of C4 went off inside the wheelhouse.

My only requirement for that truck is to have full coverage on it as long as you own it.
