I know it's still early, but it looks like Olshey has done an unbelievable job of rebuilding this team in one off-season. We're actually playing better defense than we did last year, and tonight our offense scorched one of the best defensive teams in the league. Very, very impressive.

Certainly not RC Buford!
Before Summer League even began I liked what Olshey did - extremely shrewd. It's why I don't expect him to go after guys like DeRozan next summer, but instead continue to make calculated signings. Smart signings can later be parlayed into great trades.

People who don't know what they're talking about think we had an awful offseason. Couldn't be further from the truth. We improved our team and spent less money doing it. Olshey is definitely the front runner for people who understand the game of basketball.

Has anyone on this board really said we had a bad offseason? I don't really recall it... I know people were pissed at LA leaving... but that was about it. It's been more of a wait and see approach.

Or are you talking about the media? Cause if you're talking about the media, then I totally agree with you.

I think this is true. Vonleh gets my pants tight just thinking about his potential.

Batum just fiddled with my handle, he never made my pants tight.

This is awkward.
Don't worry. James Franco doesn't troll these boards. You're fine.

I think he did a great job, getting rid of Batum, not over-paying for Matthews/Lopez, Hark/Aminu/Davis were good acquisitions at very decent prices.

My only criticisms of him, is that he actually tried to re-sign LaMarsha, he should have let that bitch walk. Also, wasn't too keen on offering Kanter the max.

I think the Kanter move was to troll OKC.

God, if he could make his free throws he'd be a steal. He had a great game tonight, but that worries me.
When I said "freak out," I meant "worry." Why are you worrying? The NBA Finals MVP couldn't make his freethrows last year. Don't worry.

Some people in the media or who like to think of themselves as is in the media.

We'll have all this cap space next year, but I look at the list of free agents that we could realistically attract, and I'm not really seeing anyone I want on this team. Maybe Al Horford, but would he come to Portland, would Atlanta let him go?

Maybe just push it to the next summer? Let the guys develop? I still think we're going to have to make a trade at some point. We have a serious logjam of young talent.

Yeah, I definitely thought this offseason, given what we had to deal with with Tex, was a total win. Sweet sweet lemonade.

I don't think we have a log jam. Dame, CJ, Aminu, Harkless, Plumlee, and Davis are talent. Might add Henderson and Alexander to that when they get healthy, but that's only 8 guys. Crabbe, Leonard, and Vonleh haven't really shown that they deserve minutes.

Yeah definitely the media... all those awful pre-season rankings really got my goat.

I think he knew damn well that OKC was gonna match so he made damn sure they were gonna pay max! I loved it
