I've been defending Olshey, but now I want to have a little fun with it.
So, predict what Olshey will say at the press conference.

Extra kudos if you start with the word "Look"

"Look, we looked at the guys available, and really liked the guys we have. We got great
value on two players that will really help us."

I can almost taste Olshey's presser.

"You can see how valuable expiring contracts were, look how many players were moved for expirings! And we will have 3 huge expiring contracts next year where we'll be poised to make a huge move!"

Dame & I went to lunch, and decided to get another rim artist and wait till summer to put the on the finishing touches. Since Addi das is now purchasing the team they want to try and use their clout to sign KD this or Boggie this off-season. Dames known this for a bit...

Look, we lost three NBA-caliber guys, and we'll miss them, but we were able to add two NBA-caliber guys to the team, so at the end of the day it's a big win for the franchise.

barfo

The forum really needed some new players to bash and doubt....the roster had been pretty much skewed over already

Look, we were one of the most active teams. Our guys are very much in demand, but making a deal to simply make a deal doesn't make sense. We like our team.

Something about roster flexibility
"freed a roster spot", "poised to..."

Setting ourselves up for a big opportunity next trade deadline to trade the expiringa or wait until the summer and go after some big names

Olshey is a good talker. What else

you forgot...kicked the tires..and due diligence or...nobody is beating the Warriors this year

"Look, I'm not worried about what the fans are saying. I have a job to do. Regardless, of what the fans think, it's harder than it looks. This isn't a video game, we can't just go out and get whoever we want. Fans are going to always be upset about something. It's hard to be patient. It's a process. In terms of going out and looking for trades, we were as aggressive as a team can be. There was a lot of interest in our players, we had a list of targets, as to who we wanted to bring in. Rodney and Skal were both on that list. We are talking about two young and versatile players. We upgraded the roster, did we get a big name, no, but it's not because we didn't try. The deal just wasn't there, in terms of what was being asked. It was a high tide deadline, where counteroffers were just too precipitous.
We weren't interested in having a fire sale, or giving up players for under market value. But, listen, we got the guys we wanted. Rodney is going to be a great help on the wing. Skal is a talented young big, he reminds me a lot of Zach. I think we have a group that can make a run in the playoffs. We still have our first and an open roster spot. We will be aggressive on the buyout market. We will definately use that avenue. We will look for a guy that can come in and help us down the stretch. We are always looking to upgrade the team. It just has to be the right move for us. It has to make sense."

It will be something about how he loved Skal in the draft and how they were always fans of Hood in Utah. Basically it’s all gonna be bullshit.

I don’t blame Neil, I blame PA and everyone else who let this HWY99 car salesmen plant his ass and be rewarded year after year for the exact same failures. Most owners would have fired a gm who busted on extensions/signings of 4 guys in one offseason.

ET
Moe
Nards
Crabbe

Name one gm who busted harder ever?

I player that not demand right now is Harkless. Olshey been trying to get rid of him for 2 years and still no takers. Of Olshey did this him self by signing some stupid contracts 2 years ago. But maybe next year he can finally get rid of him at next year deadline.

Now Harkless is going to be all sulky again and play like crap because he knows Neil tried to trade him..

I really wish we could get a chatbot-like simulator for Neil Olshey ( https://www.chatbots.org/conversational_agent/ ), where we could type in 20 or so buzz phrases and do an interview with it. You've got several good phrases going!

"fungible"
"bifurcate"
"we were aggressive"
"our guys have value, but we like our guys too"
