hopefully you guys are right. not gonna lie, i've suddenly regained interest in the WWE.

Edge as the face is really boring.
 
and i'm still waiting to see how much the Rock got to save the WWE viewership
 
And then Taker is coming back next week to Raw as well. Then Triple H. Both have been out for several months now. Triple H for a whole year actually.

Things are looking good at the moment.
 
Once I turned eight and I discovered wrestling was fake, I lost interest.

I do like The Rock as an actor, however.
 
so is it the upswing of MMA that's killing off the sports entertainment business ?

wwe etc really benefitted from the mistrust that people got from boxing and all its scandals back in the day, wondering if now there is a more credible form of 'combat' that a large number of traditional wwf/wwe fans have just moved on? i guess brock / lashley etc have leveraged that also.
 
not at all. its the lack of big name superstars. I mean John Cena? Wade Barrett? has nothing to do with MMA or scandals...if thye have good writing and characters, it'll be popular.

back in the day it was Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock...so much bigger and more interesting to watch. The characters on wrestling are pretty lame lately.
 
is the WWE even getting killed off? Aside from the attitude era, I think the fan base has been pretty consistent.
 
I have found it less interesting and stopped watching since Stone Cold was off.
 
Yeah, but you aren't in their target demo. I think they are still doing well, we're just getting older.

who are the draws? Randy Orton?

I liked TNA better. The angles they have are less interesting. A lot of it is them going "PG". No more Val Venis or other shit like that.
 
I always thought Cena was an awesome wrestler for WWE. Half the audience hates him/half loves him. He always gets a good reaction for fans.

I never watched soap operas, so I'll have to take your word for it.
 
I actually don't mind Cena..seems like a really professional guy. I'd like to see a heel turn for him, his "work hard schtick" kind of sucks balls.

I'd also love Kurt Angle back...that guy is awesome.
 
I miss good tag teams (no homo). Demolition to the Dudley Boyz to the Rockers to the New Age Outlaws....now its a joke

I stopped watching wrestling when Hulk Hogan became Hollywood Hogan and ditched coolness for the NWO.

John Cena is such a loser. I had already stopped watching wrestling when he started getting big but he's always seemed really lame to me.

Watching the return of The Rock on youtube was awesome. No one can quite put on a show like him.
 
Playboy Buddy Rose became a fat ass loser. I used to see him at Hotshots Bar in Orchards. People said he'd arrive at about noon and drink til close nearly every night.

In re-reading my responses to this thread I came across as dismissive to those who enjoy WWE. I only meant that I lost interest in pro wrestling when I found out it was fake; it stopped being a sport for me. It's just not my bag; I didn't mean to insult others who enjoy the spectacle.
