OT On Undeserved Reputations

I've hammered on the idea of undeserved reputations over the years. Players and coaches become known for being good or bad at something, not because of any evidence but because people keep saying it. Generally a coach will say something to a local reporter, the local reporter writes an article, and then national coverage regurgitates the local coverage. I just came across this article about the phenomenon and figured I'd post it. Whether it's basketball or politics, don't believe something just because you've heard it repeated over and over again:

I think he's linking this in reference to undeserved reputations for basketball players, coaches and GMs.
 
Meyers had the best 70-meter skate sprint in 2012. I'm honestly baffled and embarrassed by people who put Plumlee in the same neighborhood as Leonard athletically.
 
Those that disliked CJ never gave him an objective chance until he was the anointed gunslinger.
 
Meyers Leonard is the Bo Jackson of the NBA.
