Our current roster consists of:
Guards
Kidd, McInnis, Carter, Planinic, Vaughn, Wright
Forwards
Jefferson, Linton Johnson, Scott Padgett, Cliff Robinson
Bigs(Options at Center)
Nenad, JC, Marc Jackson
As you can see that puts our current roster at 13...we have 1 more roster spot open, so my question is what direction would you like to go with that spot?....right now, it seems that for some reason, the front office is still looking at shooters....but in my opinion the need for big body is still important even with Padgett. So here are some realistic guys on the market the Nets still can pick up, first the Shooters:
Wesley Person- nice insurance shooter, and brings expereince to the table
Lammond Murray- decent overall scorer, a bit overatted as a three point shooter in my opinion, better in the 20 foot range compared to deep. Considered a distraction at times in Toronto.
Kerry Kittles- If healthy, one of the best transition guards in the league, outside shooter but can finish very well around the hoop on the break, best defender of the bunch. Only played 12 games last, may not be recovered from 2004 offseason surgery.
Now for the Bigs/forwards...
Marcus Haslip- Athletic, can block a few shots....but the strongest asset he would bring to the table for the Nets would be his ablity to run the floor & finish on the break alongside Jason Kidd & the wings....had a chance to prvoe himself as a player in Milwaukee...didnt really..but he was young, game may have matured a bit since that opportunity.
Alan Henderson- A veteran bigman, not overally athletic but still works hard on the boards..can be a intangable/ hustle type player off the bench.
Sam Clancy- Coming off a strong summer league with the Nets, he is a legit candidate for the last roster spot...he has struggled to make a NBA roster since coming out of USC, but is a solid banger dont low, will be a pressence in the paint but wont block many shots...more of a pshyical big who can move guys out the lane with his body.
So what direction, shooter or bigman?...or player specfically would you like to see added...but be realistic, at this point games like Jason Kapono, Reggie Evans, etc..arent a legit opition, we only have the minimum to work with....
