I think they should open the Coliseum and show the playoff games there like back in the day at the Paramount! I'm sure they could put up some huge screens and charge $10. That place would be rockin'!

Too bad good old trusty mayor adams wants to knock it down!

I hear that the leagues frown on that these days because it lowers their tv ratings.

Hell, I bet they could get 10,000+ in there even on home games. Not that they would.

I don't understand why people want it to stay? Do you or anyone else that wants to keep the building ever go to games there? How is it such an amazing architectural building? It is an ugly eyesore of a box. Yes there may be history in the building and a memorial, but that doesn't mean it needs to stay. A new memorial, that is better, will be built and that memory will always live. The building is a DUMP!

But I am all for using it to show the games for fans that don't have tickets in the playoffs. People would actually show up for that.

You could just watch the games at the Mission Theater. The beer is cheaper and the food is better.

Best Idea I've heard yet! They need to at least set up a projector at Pioneer Courthouse Square. .

Hell ya! They could make a ton of money just off the concessions. And unlike the RG, MC is built like crap. Why is that a good thing for an arena? Because when people move in unison, that place SHHHHAAAAAKKKKKEEESSSSS!!!!

You're our inside man! What did Morty say?

They should tear down the old barn, and incorporate the windows in a new baseball stadium there (or at the PPS site).

They could show the TV broadcast then.

A problem might be parking though. But yea, if they could set up 4 movie theater screens and projected the game, that would be kinda cool. Especially sitting in the old MC. I wonder if they'd also be afraid of competing with themselves though.

well the nba still wouldnt like that. think of the all the ratings they lose from people going to the game

I totally agree with this its a dump it was a dump years ago...cat fanciers want to keep it up....

Memorial Stadium sounds much better plus I am a vet and the Memorial Part of the MC is extremely lacking....

Those who attended Blazers games there back in the days of real Blazermania can still feel the concrete floor trembling beneath their feet, their hair standing up from the electricity in the air, their ears ringing and hearing muffled for days.

You've never heard LOUD unless you were there.

I remember opposing players saying they were actually frightened by the crowd noise the first time they played there. They would be in a huddle but ignoring the coach and just staring up at the crowd going beserk.

And at the time it was built it was considered a fairly innovative and modern design. (Shows how old I really am)
