Opening Night..... Blazers vs Suns Game Thread 10/26/10

Dre has game, but his skills just don't fit with this team.

In terms of winning, his skills have yet to fit with any team.

Is it too much to ask for him to not completely brick open 15' shots? I agree that Miller has talent, but so far tonight, when he is in the game, his defender just collapses on Aldridge, and the entire offense grinds to a halt. Either that, or 'Dre hoists up some ugly shot that looks off when it leaves his hand.

I feel confident now that I have seen Nate in the arms folded ninja pose

Love the pee-wee herman look on Buck.

Look on the bright side guys, LOTS of room for improvement!!

D69 from clubblazers.com says that Philly is rumored to want Miller back. I wonder who we'd want off of their roster?

Has that guy ever been right? He keeps throwing around rumor after rumor every week.

Love Buck Williams but he looks like Uncle Ben wearing that bow tie.

I'd trade Andre and Joel for Brand and Turner.

He's not making predictions. he apparently just hears things from somebody about what's being talked about behind the scenes ... if you believe him.

Looked good

Johnson
Batum
Roy
Matthews
Camby
Cunningham

Looked bad

Rudy
LaMarcus
Andre
Oberto (didn't really, but I didn't want to start another category)

Miller did have a slow start, but the offensive foul was bullshit. It turned out to be a 5 pt swing. I thought Rudy looked very good. He was very active.

Turner? SG is the least of the worries. The Blazers need a PG. I'd put in Johnson, since he at least tried to be a PG, unlike Miller.

From the projections (take from them what you will), Turner could end up being a rich man's Matthews, able to play the 1/2/3. We could run Matthews/Roy/Batum and bring Turner in for any of them. I get what you're saying about Turner making mistakes, but I still would take a chance. Esp if it was just Andre and Joel going out.

Rudy was at least active on the defensive end.

He was horrible defensively on the ball. He was active off it though. His spacing was also really poor in some of the sets.....well in the two sets they ran anyway

Adam Bjaadsf0gu is trying a bit too hard, but I didn't automatically turn it off like with Luftman or Akamian.

I did not see it that way at all.

I'd love to poach Holiday, but there's no chance in hell they give him up.

I'd rather see a Miller+1st rnder for Hinrich from Washington, they're gonna look to rebuild fast around Wall and another 1st and Andre's expiring could be enticing.

Our poor spacing on offense has rendered Aldridge essentially useless. He looks like he intends to use his strength, but they're throwing double and triple teams at him.

Same as what the Suns did to us in the playoffs. Nate had 6 months to figure it out...

Seeing Luke for a sec I thought it was Viktor. :) Took me a sec to think who is that can't be him.

Holiday is going to be Philly's mainstay PG for a while. They love him here. But he's similar to Dre. I don't think he'd solve our spacing issues.

True, but he only was able to ask Canzano last week. Takes time to implement new ideas.
