"Midway through a slick commitment video that featured Oregon head coach Dan Lanning explaining how five-star cornerback Na'eem Offord would fit into his program, a familiar octogenarian popped up on screen: Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

The Oregon super booster didn't say anything in the video that announced Offord, the nation's No. 2 cornerback and No. 12 overall prospect, had flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Oregon's 2025 class. But his presence wasn't a coincidence.

"Uncle Phil," as he's known to Oregon players, is doing everything he can to deliver a national title for his beloved Ducks. Getting a must-have 6-foot-1 five-star cornerback out of the state of Alabama and away from Oregon's toughest Big Ten competition was just part of the plan.

"He played a big role, like a huge, big role," Offord told CBS Sports of Phil Knight. "He's actually waiting on me to get up there, he's got a lot of stuff planned for me. He's gonna help me make my shoe."

Every school wishes they had this advantage and if they say they don’t it’s out of jealousy.

All these sour fans are saying that we just buy whoever we want but Jahkeem Stewart proved otherwise. The Trojans 100% bought him and the insiders said it was an offer that would not be matched. If money was no object we would have matched and exceeded it.

Rich coming from people who did it before it was legal. So they can go fuck themselves.

Alai Kalaniuvalu, a 6'4 300 lb 4-star IOL from Las Vegas signed with the Ducks tonight

at 247 this bumps Oregon ahead of Georgia into 3rd in 247's composite rankings

now, 5-star edge Justus Terry will sign with either Georgia or Texas tomorrow and he's worth 6.13 points to whoever signs him. the betting favorite is Georgia so that would drop Oregon back into 4th

but if Andrew Olesh flips from Michigan to Oregon tomorrow (about a 50-50 chance), the Ducks could move to 2nd at 306.90

that assumes there are no other additions in the top-5 classes

Madsen is also still out there (and also will take a mission as I understand it.)

I think we need to pick up some OL help, we need a TE, maybe one really good WR, and some DL help.

Curious to see who sticks at RB.
