Good coaching is so critical. It'll probably happen eventually, but Altman hasn't lost a first round NCAA, NIT, CBI, or P12 game during his entire tenure at Oregon. That's wild.
Not shockingly, there are a bunch of people on the Oregon message boards that wanted Altman fired all season.Good coaching is so critical.
That's insane. He's shown for years that he gets the most out of his guys. Not shockingly, there are a bunch of people on the Oregon message boards that wanted Altman fired all season.

Altman (and staff) used to be one of the few programs that knew how to get and use transfers. Then NIL and the transfer portal became a thing and I'm not sure they've found their groove. His recruiting really took a hit when he lost that guy to DePaul.
Also, the Ducks have kind of struggled to recruit “go to” scorers over the years

I'll be very surprised if Stubblefield (DePaul) isn't back on Oregon's bench next year. He was running around on the floor/locker room celebrating with the team the last two nights.
New coach in 2022?I don't know the details of Oregon's NIL program(s), but I have got the impression it's been heavily slanted toward football. I suspect that with limited NIL budgets, the one-&-done rule for basketball makes it seem like a poor investment
I hope that the aperture of some trickle-down NIL economics will be directing more money to the basketball programs in the future
but more than that, I want to know what the Fk is going on with the Track & Field programs. Oregon used to dominate the Pac-12 and win national championships; they have the premier dedicated T&F facility in the nation. But their T&F teams hardly even register notice nationally any more. I can't believe Phil Knight is OK with this.

First, I can't believe I actually turned on the Men's basketball tournament game against Arizona. It was the usual torture, Ducks 1 for 12 on threes in the first half, down by as much as 15 when Dante went out with an injury (he does not have a high tolerance for pain), Ariz had 28 FTA at one time to Oregon 8. OR bench somehow got a technical at crucial part of the game and lost two points.
Second, cannot believe OR won and will have a chance tomorrow to play their way into the NCAAs. Dante came back, played great defense. Shelsted and Cousinard made some shots and Ducks won. Arizona does not look like a team that can go far in the tournment. Caleb Love did not look good.
To be clear, I didn't say that females were automatically perfect coaches. I said, the perfect WBB coach would be female. Male coaches can be fantastic as well.
The Ducks entire offense is just one dude. No plays. No passing. No movement. Just one man and a basketball.
