I truly don't understand why you think I do.
Well you got the facts on Conerly as a recruit wrong and while doing so randomly capitalized ZERO as if I was slow on the uptake. Then taking me to task on the things I've said even though you're essentially saying the same thing. Basically as far as I can tell we are in agreement

STOMP thinks that if you disagree with him, you have beef with him.
lol, whatever

I admit I was wrong about Conerly. (Not that one player changes my point) I was going by Chile's Depth Chart which has a feature that shows stars from each recruiting service. Either I read it wrong or he got it wrong.

As to thinking you are "slow on the uptake", I never thought that at all.

Boettcher is a badass.

I don't know if you're old enough to remember Kevin Mitchell....he was an undersized LB but he was a total bad-ass anyway. Boettcher is a lot like him, only a bit bigger

what I'm looking forward too is Bassa coming back from injury and the Ducks having all 3 of Bassa-Boettcher-Jacobs as a run-stopping rotation in the middle of the front-7. Bassa being out has really hurt the Ducks run defense

I mentioned the Kevin Mitchell comparison in the civil war thread

Hmmmm the name doesn't immediately ring a bell. What years?

2001-2003. All Pac-10 LB who was the size of a safety (with safety speed). All heart. Drafted in the 2nd round by the 49ers and played 10 years in the NFL

was the defensive MVP of the 2001 Fiesta Bowl when Oregon upset and crushed Colorado. Mitchell had 6 tackles for loss in that game including a couple of sacks.

he played LB like there was two of him out there

He was a beast. Didnt he play alongside the D Coordinator for CA bears? Who's son play for Huskies.

He was seemingly in on every play, like Boettcher. He was much smaller than him though, like 5’11”. I think Mitchell hit harder, but both swarmed the field.

Both wore neck roll’s too

I watched those years but honestly.... most of the names on the team are just gone from the memory.

Bad Chile! I love that site but looks like he got that data entered wrong for both rivals and 247.

While we've both expressed some skepticism about star rankings, there is a 5* OLineman for the 2026 class I've my fingers crossed for. Jackson Cantwell hails from Lanning's home state of Missouri and has been offered by most everyone. He's 6'8 300 & both of his parents were T&F Olympians. He's hoping to follow in their footsteps throwing the shot put as he's elite at that as well. He visited Track Town back in June

Lanning closing in on a massive flip from Tennessee.

5 star o lineman Douglas Utu.

The 12th rated prospect in class of 25’
...he's also the current HS teammate of 2025 Duck OLine commit Alai Kalaniuvalu. Rivals seems to think there is some fire to this smoke too, fingers crossed

There was a particularly pissy Tennessee reporter who seemed to throw a whole lot of needless crap Oregon's way when Utu gave UT his verbal. There would be some sweet sweet schadenfreude if he indeed does flip

Kevin Mitchell was the original Mater Dei connection.
