Oregon Ducks 2024!

the RB decision is pretty layered

both Jordan James and Whittington could return next season. Both could leave. I'd imagine the Ducks would need to know for sure before they 'pay' for a transfer RB

I'd imagine they have to have some kind of inkling.

Louisville redshirt freshman tight end Jamari Johnson has verbally committed to the Ducks.
The 6-foot-5, 265-pound tight end will have three years of eligibility at Oregon.

this is a little bit of departure for Lanning and the portal. the Ducks have generally been signing established players. Guys who can come in and be ready to start and plus holes. That was especially true last season.

Johnson missed half of the season and didn't really establish a lot at Louisville but was a highly rated recruit. Kind of reminds me of the Jordan Burch signing

Yesterday the Oregon rivals insiders relayed that of the OTs they’re pursuing, Harkey was the coaches top target. The other Tackle they’re said to really like is Ethan Onianwa

the TE Johnson held Duck interest when he was a HS recruit but went to Louisville with a bunch of his friends. He’s really big and may be more of a blocker at UO

Maybe it has more to do with the position. We just needed a bigger TE who can block. We have the skilled TEs already. Just a guess

He just fits a different need than Sadiq. He's a big dude. 6'5.

I think they're probably confident in Sadiq taking over next year.

Looks like we get #1 ranked FCS Montana State as first game 2025. Think they are in semi's this weekend.

No, we get the winner of Ohio State vs Tennessee for our first game of 2025. We're hoping that Montana State is our 4th game of 2025.

Rumors floating that Dallas Wilson might ask out of his commitment and flip to Florida. This kid is exhausting.

Following recruiting is exhausting nowadays period.

who knows how many of these players actually stick around multiple years and get developed moving forward

Especially if you sign a transfer that will prevent them from getting #1 reps

mizzou signed that DE, changed the STATE LAW to pay him and then he left LOL

a lot of chatter that Dallas Wilson wants to back out of his signed letter of intent

Now the reports are that we are done with Wilson. Seems like we are tired of the bullshit.

@wizenheimer there's a discussion happening on Scoop Duck that some people have heard that Lanning and his staff are battling a significant possible transfer. Nobody will say who. They said the Wilson flip is small potatoes by comparison.

Some people are guessing maybe Evan Stewart. Have you heard anything?

Edit - dude said it isn’t Stew. I’m trying to think who could transfer that would be significant right now.

Sadiq is actually a really good blocker.
True, but Johnson is nearly the size of an OT. Someone mentioned 2 TE sets... they have some flexibility to mix their looks.

They might not be done with the portal at TE. The injury that Freshman Roger Saleapaga suffered earlier this year is said to be significant enough that his availability for next season is in question which would leave them with only 3 scholarship TEs (Sadiq, Johnson, Ploog).

I know its a ways off, but Oregon is off to an unprecedented start for the following class of 2026. Rivals has their Defense heavy class ranked #1 right now but whats at the top of their rankings is particularly crazy. They only have 14 kids ranked as 5*s & the Ducks have one of them as a verbal (TE Kendre Harrison)... but of the remaining 13 kids 7 of them hold significant Duck interest. That blows my mind anyway...

Immanuel Iheanacho is one of them who has long held interest in UO. He's a 6'7 340 snowplow of an OT from Maryland. I thought I'd share his Junior film... I like how for the most part they don't bother to circle him before every play as he's the gigantasaurus at LT

Uiagalelei. (Just a guess.)

But seeing how his father moved his brother around the country for big NIL paydays it wouldn't surprise me.

it's being reported that WR Dallas Wilson has indeed flipped to Florida. His mom died within the last year which has made going across the country to his dream school a problem.

haven't heard

not surprising as there's no such thing as tampering right now

Jordan James or Whittington? Laloulu? Maybe a DB?

We’re in an era where a good college player that’s maybe not a great NFL prospect may try and leverage for NIL money. As it’s their only chance for a payday for playing football

I don't think his father moved his brother from Clemson to OSU for a bigger NIL payday. It just was not working for him at Clemson and he needed a place to help resurrect his career, much like Bo leaving Auburn for Oregon. It was working in Corvallis until Johnathan Smith left. This won't be the case for Matayo.

the big worry with this is an important player entering the portal before the playoffs

hope it's not Sadiq
