I just watched the game. Those refs did not call the game the same both ways. Did they borrow those refs from the NBA?

I certainly thought this watching it. It was surreal at times because listening to the broadcast crew I was perplexed on what they were seeing as well.

Then he shouldn’t be playing.
For a QB, handing the ball off, moving around in the pocket, rolling out on RPO, and throwing the ball, are not the same as a full-bore 90 yard sprint, in the rain, on a wet field. This is just obvious. Somewhat hobbled QB's have won hundreds of games in college and the pros. A barely mobile Bo Nix beat 10th ranked Utah in late November 2022, and his 2 yard dive play sealed the deal

your mini jihad against Dante Moore is kind of strange

He’s not Bo Nix.

and yes, the officiating was pretty bad

* the hands to the face personal foul penalty was flat-out wrong. The Duck defender had a grip on the jersey of the blocker and his hand never touched the blocker's facemask. That was a legal technique to maintain space that the defender was using

* the offensive pass interference against Benson sure looked like a phantom call. There was only one replay from a bad angle but the defender was not re-directed or impeded in any way

* there was pretty clear intentional grounding on two Iowa passes. One would have made the 58 yard FG attempt a 69 yard attempt. The other would have made a 4th and goal from the 9 instead of 4th and goal from the three

And, even though replay finally got the calls right, there were 3 extremely long video reviews by officials that sure made it seem they were trying hard to find reasons to rule in favor of Iowa, but just couldn't. One was the obvious TD run by Dierre Hill; he clearly crossed the goal line before being down. The 2nd was the Iowa fumble that was initially ruled down before the fumble. They had time to show the play about 20 times on TV and guess what...it was a fumble every time. And the 3rd was failed tow point conversion that was initially ruled successful. The receiver clearly came down out of bounds. None of those reviews should have taken more than 30 seconds. That they took 3 minutes was insane

Sports Illustrated wrote about it:

sure...he's only had 14 starts and thrown 445 passes. Nix had 61 starts and threw 1936 passes. By the time Nix led Oregon past Utah, he had started 43 games

And Dante's not Mariota either but Mariota played at least a dozen games when he was hobbled and couldn't run full speed

Dante got dinged up pretty significantly in the Indiana game. He was sacked 6 times and hit hard a dozen more times. Since then he has led the Ducks to 3 straight wins while less than 100% physically. And the last 2 wins came against good--.>great defenses; Wisconsin (41st) and Iowa (4th) on days with absolutely shitty weather conditions. In the last 4 games, he has faced 3 tough defenses that are ranked 5th, 41st, and 4th

even Nix and Mariota struggled at times against top defenses. (think Mariota against Stanford)

I think you need to consider some context and be a little less critical of Moore. He's not perfect by any stretch, but he's improving and learning from mistakes....and he's pretty good right now

As egregious as any of the calls were multiple no calls for intentional grounding where their QB didn't come close to getting the ball past the line of scrimmage &/or with no receiver within 15 yards. One of those preceded the long FG... of course the announcers said nada

I hate talking about refs but I literally said man these refs are really in the bag for Iowa. And the announcers were in the bag for the refs. Wizenheimer laid it out well. I'm starting to wonder how deep the Big10 resentment of the Ducks goes.

Oregon coming in and winning the championship in their first season in the storied conference undoubtedly ruffled some feathers. Lanning taking advantage of a rule loophole last season against Ohio State ruffled some too. There certainly have been some questionable calls against the Ducks in the short time they've been in the conference and all of them have happened after that Ohio State game

The refs almost always give an extra second for the ball to be snapped. I'm not sure if it was snapped within that short window, but if it was then it's not typically called.

The list of Duck complaints over the officiating for that game is long... that was just an easy graphic example of one of them

lol it's football... at this point in the season everyone who plays is dealing with issues

if he was a run first and second QB you'd have a point

STOMP
Not if it costs the team too much of the offense they run. If he isn't mobile enough to run which would be what a hamstring injury would imply then you cannot run all of your plays and you risk further injury to that player.
Doesn't matter what sport you are playing. You don't play on a bad hamstring. We are not talking about a minor issue. Dinged up happens yes. I'm fully aware of what playing injured is. I did it for years.
