This game highlights a big problem with the college football playoff model.

There were like a dozen teams that should have been in this game ahead of JMU. The same could be said for Tulane.

With the consolidation of major conferences, conference title wins should no longer have any bearing in college football playoff births or seeding,

It's college, you have to have that Cinderella aspect. Someday, one of these mid-major conferences will win one of these games.

I would love to see the Beavers in the playoffs soon.

I don't think you have to have that in college football. In March Madness you can afford to have those teams because it's a field of what 72 teams now and most of those Cinderellas usually have to win to get in as part of the opening round of 8.

There just aren't any good reasons why teams like Texas, BYU and yes even Notre Dame should be out of the running when they all would have put up a better fight than this JMU team or Tulane earlier today.

I know nothing about Texas Tech….. a good draw for us? Compared to the other teams remaining?
I'm not going to pretend to know. They supposedly have the best rush defense in the nation, which sounds like a problem for the Ducks

Great front 7 on D, DBs less so. Pedestrian offense.

As for the draw... if the other 2nd round choices are Ohio St, Indiana & Georgia then anyone would rather play Texas Tech

btw, there is online chatter that concerns over Jordan Davison limping off the field seem to have been answered about as positively as possible with MRI results showing no structual damage to his ankle. Fingers crossed he heals up in the 10 days off. Regardless of JD, definitely a positive for their RB depth to have Limar back

big news for the Ducks...their starting C, Iapani Laloulu is coming back for his senior season:
