it's probably about Stein leaving. Stein was the reason Novosad flipped to Oregon. He may be transferring to Kentucky
I can't see Moore staying. Good for the Ducks if he does but he is going to be a top 5 pick this year. He could sneak into the #1 spot of a team falls in love with him, otherwise he is the #2 qb behind Mendoza in mocks.

Next year is going to have many more qbs in the draft worthy of 1st round consideration that could push him substantially farther down from top 5.

Ducks should look at Drew Mestemaker as a portal target.

Moore is getting lots of advice from smart people. He may very well leave for the draft but I think you are underrating the chance he returns

a couple of things: Moore is only 20 years old, and won't turn 21 till a month AFTER the draft. I've 'heard' some of the advise he's getting isn't pointing at that disadvantage

another thing he's being advised on is that most successful NFL QB's have at least 30 starts in college. A lot of QB's in the 15-25 start range have failed. Bo Nix had 61 starts; Justin Herbert had 44; Josh Allen had 29; Mahomes had 32; Dak Prescott had 44; Jared Goff had 37; Mathew Stafford had 39; Trevor Lawrence had 40; Jordan Love had 38; Caleb Williams had 37; Jalen Hurts had 56; Baker Mayfield had 48

Dante Moore has had 18 starts and in 3 of the starts, at UCLA, he was replaced at halftime

That makes some sense but straight up...... Moore would have to have a perfect season next year to stay in the top 5 of the draft. Like I said, there are going to be many, many more 1st round qbs potentially coming out next year. If Moore falters even a little, he could lose millions to start his career.

rumor is Moore's people are not counting on him being a top-5 pick no matter how much the talking heads at ESPN list him that way. And the reason why he might not be are what I just pointed at: him being 20 and the lack of quality starts. And it's also possible he slips because of what happens at the combine

from everything I've heard it's probably a better than even chance he returns. But that can change

Herbert returned for his senior season and there was the risk it was a mistake. Same for Bo Nix....and just about all those QB's I listed. And that was before NIL

I just see no scenarios where he is not top 5. The Raiders are going qb. The Cardinals and Jets will also want to go qb.

Ty Simpson and Mendoza are the only other qbs in the convo and Mendoza is projected to go #1. Simpson is probably a late 1st early 2nd.

Next year Moore will be competing with CJ Carr, MesteMaker, Sellers, Manning, Saying, Maiava, Iamaleava, Lagway. Raiola etc. It is projected to be stacked. They also have Smith from Ohio State coming out who is looking like an elite wr prospect set to go top 5. The draft is going to be LOADED.

Being pick #5 is about $40 million over 4 years. Dropping to pick #15 brings you down to about $20 million over 4 years.

and you've just answered the question of why Moore might return to Oregon. Being a QB for the Raiders or Jets is a dead end job

and I am kind of amused about a Beaver fan trying to talk Moore into leaving

The Raiders have Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty. Pretty good players for him to join. Also you'd be mentored by the best QB in the game ever. Thats a pretty big deal in most players minds.

Bad news for you if that is your thinking and you want Moore to stay is the Raiders lost today so as long as they lose next week they get pick #1 where they likely go Mendoza.

Moore would likely go to the Cardinals or Jets (which I would rather not go to than the Raiders).

"Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported on Monday, "I'm not 100% convinced it'll be Indiana's Fernando Mendoza." Breer went on to explain that Mendoza could have some competition to be the No. 1 pick, depending on whether Oregon quarterback Dante Moore declares for the draft.

"I will say it wouldn't surprise me at all if he is, and he seems like a great kid, and one you can bet on," Breer stated. "I'm just not sure, at this early juncture, whether he'll go ahead of Oregon's Dante Moore (should Moore turn down whatever Phil Knight's offering him to stay in Eugene).""

Wow, that's an interesting spot for you as a Raider fan and a Duck hater disliker.

Who would you like to see as the Raider's next QB?

If Moore went to the Raiders they should change the division name to Kermit and the three Ducks.

Since Mahomes will probably be out for a decent part of the year the Chiefs should trade for Gabriel.

I think it would be huge for the Ducks program if Moore went #1.

doesn't necessarily indicate his intentions, one way or the other. But signing new NIL deals 2-3 weeks before he declares for the draft or announces his return does raise eyebrows a little. Now it could just be some companies getting in early and signing a partnership with a potential #1 pick in the draft in April. But it could also be Moore lining up sponsors and NIL income for another season at Oregon

Very stressed about this game. Will be able to watch the first half. Then we fly from OKC to NOLA. 1.5 hour flight……thinking I’ll be landing around the middle of the 4th quarter. HATE trying to watch or listen to games that way!!!!

You didn't really answer the question.

I did a quick search and read some comments that Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Matt Leinart and Matt Barklet all were highly regarded prospects that went back to school.

Didn't work out for two and did work out for two.

Adding in what I said about next years qb class being absolutely loaded (which could include Simpson too), it is a tough decision indeed. He would need an elite season to stay at the top of the pack. Could totally happen but so much risk there.

Maybe Phil ponies up $15 million this year to keep him?

If Moore leaves, the Ducks will have their choice of many good potential transfers qbs. They will be fine.

If he has anyone around him who is smart they will say you’re a top 3 pick. Go now.

These games usually make me nervous. This one doesn’t one bit. Oregon is on another level physically.
