OT Oregon Ducks 2025

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Kinda seems like ND might have had a pretty good argument when you see this and games like James Madison or Tulane.
Thats what I said about ND. They should have made it over Bama. And people told me they should have just beaten Miami to get in. The same Miami that beat OSU last night.

The Ducks next game is gonna be sweet. Watching Mendoza and Moore battle it out with all the scouts watching is must see TV. Mendoza has looked really good today.
Indiana looks close to unbeatable. I'm not sure I've seen a FBS team that executes, on both sides of the ball, with such high efficiency while having no weaknesses

Maybe ND should join a conference and get a automatic bid. They played a whole bunch of bad teams, and the two teams they didplay who were good beat them. Join a conference of schedule tougher competition.

Tough shit and fuck ND. I like giving conference champs a crack at the playoffs. I think it's healthy for the sport.
Just my opinion but I say fuck the conferences and make em all independent.

Modern college football is all about the playoffs. If conference champions can't get in the playoffs, why have conferences at all? What is their purpose?

I prayed Georgia would run it back for a touchdown. Now that would have been entertainment.

In related news …

Is there any dumber tradition in sports than pouring Gatorade on the winning coach?

They all seem to hate it. Cold, sticky, yuck!

Best win if the year! probably in years!

Great job Ducks!

If they had taken the points they could(would have had) have, this would have been more like a 30-0 blowout.

so, in the last 2 CFP seasons, the teams that have had the bye are 1-7. I would not be surprised if the CFP goes to 16 teams with no first round byes
Personally I think they have a much bigger problem with the conference champion thing than the first round bye. I can promise you that Texas Tech wanted an extra week to get healthy. Same with Georgia and OSU. If Buckeye coaches and players are blaming an extra week off for losing to Miami then they better learn to prepare better.

PUNT THE FUCKING BALL LANNING>>>LEARN THE LESSON
Right. I know Lanning is a gambler but he needed to recognize the odds changed going against the best 4th down defense in the country and considering how well your own defense is doing. (which means every 3 points is important)

Sitting in a Starbucks here in NOLA surrounded by Georgia and Ole Miss fans. Frat boys as far as the eyes can see. I didn’t even realize this game was here until yesterday. What is @THE HCP wearing you ask. Old School Oregon Duck hoodie. Getting all these looks from these toothless hillbillies……Loud and proud FAMS…..Loud and proud!

I do think the conference championship games should be eliminated. But they won't be, at least not until the current media deals expire, because they generate big bucks for the conferences and media wants those games for their own revenue generation

the CFP problem is the imbalance of schedules. Oregon, without playing in a conference championship game, had 3 weeks off between their Wasington Game and the JMU game. TT had 4 weeks off between their Big-12 title game and yesterday. But the Ducks were able to shake the rust off in that 1st round game. And the 10 days off between that game and yesterday allowed Oregon to maintain rhythm and timing.

it's too long a layoff for the bye teams and they are at a distinct disadvantage when they face a team that just played 8-10 days prior. In the old bowl system, there were almost always two teams that were playing with the same number of days off

up until the Indiana game yesterday, the bye teams were 0-6. More than that though is that those 6 games totaled 480 minutes. Teams with byes held a lead for less than 5 of those 480 minutes. That's not coincidence. Indiana sure appears to be on a different level than anybody else. They are a senior-heavy team and by far the most experienced team in the playoffs. A perfect storm of great coaching, execution efficiency, and no weaknesses

but yeah, the conference championship games are an issue. Another big issue is trying to hold onto the bowl games in the old formats and old schedules

ESPN supposedly has set a Jan. 23rd deadline for the CFP to come up with a new format (like a 16-team schedule). But if the SEC and Big-10 demand more time to iron out their differences, ESPN will bend. But their appears to be growing momentum to change. Those bye games are not a reward; they are a big disadvantage

and making everything even more chaotic is that today is the first day of the transfer portal

Indiana's season is a storyline for a Disney movie in 10 years. The Ducks have a chance to end that production before it starts. Otherwise, they may show up twice in the movie as a team Indiana beat.

The ratings on this game should be astronomical. Such a great storyline. Can't wait! Hope its a great game.

That transfer portal point is a big one also.
I agree the system needs tweaking. 16 teams might be the answer.
I did enjoy football yesterday though. New Year’s Day and I watched a bunch.
SEC is getting exposed also. How many SEC teams do they allow in a 16 team format.

I assume they would go by final rankings and not automatics.

Go to 16 teams, give the Pac-10/12 an automatic birth.
no single G6 conference will get an automatic berth....not a chance

the combined G6 conference might get a berth for the highest rated champion. But if the P4 conferences have their way, even that may not happen. The Big-10 and SEC don't really support it while the ACC and Big-12 are so worried about their own participation they are willing to stab the G6 in the back. Brent Yormack, the Big-12 commissioner has already wielded the knife
