Oregon hires Brady Hoke as DC

They announced today that he is replacing Don Pellum. Hoke is supposedly a great recruiter but hasn't been a defensive coordinator since coaching in high school. I don't know anything about the guy really. They can't get any worse. My guess is this will be the hire that makes or breaks Helfrich. Thoughts?

So, we hire a DC who has never been a DC? I hope the people at his next job appreciate the free training we are offering him.

In some respects, the Ducks still operate like a mom-and-pop organization.

I love the hire. What could be more fitting than to hire a former Beav to help save Duck ass.....it totally warms my heart.

Looks like a pretty good hire, to get a former HC of a big school that turned a bad defense into one of the elite in the nation.
