Oregon State has skyrocketed to No. 3 in this week's Baseball America poll, climbing six spots.

The Beavers (27-7, 8-1 Pacific-10 Conference) have won nine consecutive games and are tied for the nation's longest active winning streak.

The rankings are nice, but walking off with the trophy again from Omaha is what it's all about.

I didn't go to a state school in Oregon, so I root for every school in Oregon to do well as I believe a rising tide lifts all boats. Oregon's college football dominance helps OSU and the Beavers as a college baseball powerhouse helps U of O. Now if we could see a simultaneous return to the days of Ralph Miller for OSU and the Two Lukes at U of O, that would be the cherry on top.
