Oh! I forgot to mention, it is illegal to posses any gear associated with the production of MJ products. They list a whole bunch of item, several I have but I don't and never did have anything to do with the shit

The small balance scale is an interesting example, use to weigh grains and grams. I use my for measuring power when reloading ammo, but I have seen the same use for MJ.
Scales are specifically on the list. WTF?

Marazul,
I don't know if you are aware of how easy it is to get marijuana if you live near the city. That supposed dealer has been able to do all of that for years. As far as giving it to kids goes, that is false. It's just as illegal to gift marijuana to minors as it is to sell it. You can "gift" under an 5 grams TO AN ADULT without facing charges. If you poses any amount of marijuana within 1000 feet of a school you will be arrested.

Even since I was in high school, it was easier to get pot than it was to get booze unless you or a friend stole it from their parents.

The way the medical marijuana was set up, anyone with a sore toe could get a card and be able to hold high amounts of the plant legally. The biggest change is that these businesses specializing in working around the laws to give medical cards to anybody will lose a lot of money, that money will go to the state, if the state chooses to fuck up what they do with said money then that is a different story all together.

You are misreading the law. It prohibits selling those items for the purpose of illegal marijuana use. It doesn't say you can't own them, and it doesn't say you can't use them for your legal marijuana activities.

Here we go again, a sales tax on some shit for the public Good! It looks like it was dreamed up by the teachers union. 40% of the revenue to the schools with even an estimate of how many teachers can be hired in some places. Fucking wonderful!

Yeah, hiring teachers is fucking wonderful! Glad you agree.

It is illegal for a minor to have the shit and illegal to sell it to them, no fucking restriction or penalty stated for giving it to them.

Those penalties already exist in current law.

Watch your ass, don't cross any lines, they can confiscate any property you have in the vicinity, sell it and distribute the funds before you are convicted of the offense. Yes Sir,
real smart to vote for shit like this.

They can do that now, that's not a change.

People will have less incentive to buy weed on the street from strangers when they can pay a little extra (I know prices will start high, but they'll drop) to know they're getting top-quality, good stuff. No worrying about what some sketchy dude did to the week they're buying on the street.

BTW, I was in Bandon this summer for a week. Doesn't seem like there's a shortage of youth peddling it down there (was offered numerous times), so I think it's safe to say, MarAzul, you'll see little change down there. So, if you feel safe now, I figure you'll be at least as safe in the future.

Also cities can vote to be not part of legalized marijuana. I think I'll grab the domain name NoPotInBandon.com and sell it to Marazul.

Drug paraphernalia includes, but is not limited to:

possess with intent

Scales and balances marketed for use or designed for use in weighing or measuring controlled
substances;

Seem straight forward to me. (see the copy and paste above) Seems like they can easily conjecture what my intent is in having this item. It can be seized and sold long before I am found not guilty. That and what ever else they find that might produce a quick sale. Have to keep paying those teachers you know.

Link where you are getting this from?

They smoke Bandon Gold there, which is a combination of Corvallis dirtweed, marine epoxy resin, and fiberglass chop mat.
Really fucks your head up.

Crap, I can do better than that. Here is actual text from the law:

Scales and balances

possession

penalty

is

death

I see you are right about the gift, it is now a class 'C" misdemeanor to deliver it to a kid ((A) Is for no consideration;). Wow that's a heavy fucking bust. You would now have to catch him though the possession of up to an once is not a violation. That much would make dealer out of you before. I might have approved of the bill If the penalty for delivery to a minor was perhaps 50 years somewhere bad.

Oh Well, we need to keep the revenue flow up to pay those teachers. No better way to do that than to get the young ones paying the bill as soon as possible.

Another amusing fact - all the text you quoted out of context here is UNCHANGED in the new law. Those passages were already in the law.

I'm just still amazed that pro legalization masses filled out voters ballots and mailed them on time given that so many of them smoke a quarter ounce before breakfast.

Seems like they must have had help. Didn't read the damn thing though, just mark here for legal weed.

Seems like this law is also in direct violation of the US constitution.
SECTION 45. Importing and exporting marijuana prohibited.

Pretty obvious that Oregon wants to collect taxes first. So just banning import from any state sure seem to circumvent these two lines in the constitution. There is definitely preference for where the commerce originates.

"No tax or duty shall be laid on articles exported from any state.

No preference shall be given by any regulation of commerce or revenue to the ports of one state over those of another: nor shall vessels bound to, or from, one state, be obliged to enter, clear or pay duties in another. "

I can't think of a product anywhere that any State has ever banned import of from another State.

I always knew you were a closet democrat. When push comes to shove you believe in a strong federal government and are against state's rights.

Nay, Democrats ignore the Constitution, I think it defines the way, especially the states rights as given in the 10th amendment.

Klamath County is fucked then. All of the other counties around it will rise up from poverty due to this and we'll still be poor.

Let's see, everyone smoking rope will get you out of poverty? Is that what you wrote?

Selling it to Californians when there aren't any other jobs in the region to be had will certainly help.

Wow! The sharing of revenue with the counties is by the number of licenses the county has. But the OLCC has total control (dictatorial control) of who gets a license and can refuse to issue licenses if they think there are enough in the area.

Holy shit, talk about central control. No Voter input, No local input, no elected representative input. $1000 buck per license for one year. Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington Counties will have a license for every other block,
Klamath county one license, just enough to shut down the bootleggers. Their share of the revenue probably will buy the stamp to send them the report.

It's really very simple. If you want more of the revenue to go to Coos County, you need to smoke more pot. It's your patriotic duty.

Good Point! The law looks as if it was written with that sort of thinking driving the issue.
For sure it got it voted in.
