The Ducks are just not that good this year. The only good player on the defense is Buckner, and the rest of the motley crew are sub par. Teams have been marching up and down against us all year. And the QB play has been terrible.

The problem isnt the players on defense, there is a ton of talent on that side of the ball. It's 100% coaching.

Tackling is obviously not being drilled in practice or someone (Pellum) is not emphasising it's obvious importance. We are playing our corners 7-10 yards off receivers on 3rd and intermediate, this is all scheme problems. Then when we blitz we show It hard... We are bring house blitzes and leaving our corners and safeties on islands, Don Pellum has the most illogical defense I've ever seen. We need to poach someone this offseason, no more inside hires... This isn't the nfl.

Now onto Helfrich and Frost... Obviously in the shadow of Chip but come the fuck on... Where was Charles Nelson, where was Taj Griffin, (I know he got hurt) why haven't we been utilizing Byron Marshall, where's Devon Allen, where's Tony Brooks-James, Do we even have tight ends???? Our offense is literally Freeman-Addison and the occasional Stanford sighting.
 
might actually be a well matched civil war this season. The Ducks didn't do anything right in this whole game...poor passing, poor catching, poor kicking, horrible offensive and defensive lines...a quarterback can only scramble so many times in one game. Missed tackles everywhere...I think the coaching staff needs a serious overhaul. Worst defensive Ducks team I've ever seen
 
So this was some elaborate April fools joke right? That wasn't really the game, just Fox doing some CGI fakery to fuck with the liberal pot smoking state?

the only way we get an overhaul is if Helfrich is fired, I just don't think he will fire Pellum.

The trifecta is complete. Niners had one of the worst offseasons of any team ever, the Blazers lost 4 of 5 starters, and now the ducks are a joke.

I'm a niner fan too, and this game is like deja vu. Secondary can't cover with a crap, totally inept in the passing game. Football season just lost it's luster big time.

I'm hoping the Blazers will at least be fun to watch. They get the "young guns" pass this year. The 49ers are just old and shitty.

It's gotten to the point where I'm actually considering watching the Oregon basketball team this year just to watch one team that won't (supposedly) suck.
 
The secondary play has been awful, which I didn't think was a weak point coming in. Our LB play hasn't been great since Alonso. Not enough creativity on running plays like in the past. But, the big thing is that the Quarterbacks suck. We need some new blood in their big time. Adams is too short to see over the line, doesn't look comfortable in the pocket and has a weak arm. Lockie is just plain awful.
