OT Oregon wildfires

Leighton, a friend of Marnell's who declined to give his last name, says he saw the forest below the trail go up in flames shortly after the fireworks sounded.

"We heard that big blast," Leighton says. "By the time I walked past, I saw a tree go up in flames. You're walking along a cliff, 200 feet above the creek. It was putting out a lot of smoke, to the point it was difficult to see the path in front of you.

As we were walking out," he adds, "there were people still walking in. We warned them to turn around—especially those with children. They mostly ignored us.

"We saw a lot of them on video being rescued the next day."

Morons. Complete morons.

My sister just evacuated and is evacuating again. They went from Cascade Locks to North Bonneville. Not a smart move.

The fire jumped across at Archer mountain and now they have fires East and West of them.

I JUST got off the phone with my brother telling him to leave North Bonneville and head East to Stevenson/Carson/Home Valley.

We have family there. The fire is moving west but if it jumps across at the Bridge of the Gods who knows what'll happen.

I have a friend in Corbet who is evacuating. Everyone be safe
Two aunts, some cousins. My in-laws grew up in Corbett, so they know half the community. Really disturbing to think of that area in peril like this.

You were saying...?

That's not where it jumped from. Not the bridge of the gods. Its west of them just south of Archer mountain.
True--I wasn't being a stickler about location. More concerned about the fact that it moved north at all.

Dude this shit isn't fucking funny....

You can make jokes all you want but I have family that LIVES in Cascade Locks, North Bonneville, etc that are evacuating now!

I still don't know if my sister is safe so save your fucking jokes.

This is exactly how I felt when people decided to start derailing the Hurricane Harvey thread. People are still being fucking found dead, and 100s of thousands of people are homeless.

Fair enough.

My mom was out there. Shes back safe. I hope your sister is safe.

10,000 plus acres burned so far because some stupid asshole lit fireworks

Damn man, I should have went to see Multnomah Falls last year when I was up there, stay safe everyone.

I'm glad your mother's safe. My sister and Brother in law last I heard were leaving N. Bonneville headed east toward Stevenson.

I just heard from my Mother-In-Law and we still haven't heard from my other Brother-In-Law. For days... I can't stop seeing his face... Jesus this is killing me....

Yeah the lodge is in danger. Firefighters trying to save it. All the beautiful greenery gone. Its gonna be the falls and burnt black hills

My thoughts are with you and your family man. I truly hope they are all safe.

Climate change is directly responsible for this.

Interesting how you have nothing to fucking say until someone brings up climate change. Why don't you just stay out of this thread? Do us all a favor and just sit this one out.

You posting dates of fires has nothing to do with dispelling climate change. So don't derail this thread into your bullshit.

Weird how 2012 is #2, and #7.
