I do think trading Nic should be looked at

He's making over $11M this season to be little more than a really good role player. Meh.

This team as currently constructed isn't doing shit.

Yep. They're only 36-15 with almost no bench.

So let's swap out the starters, who have been great, yet not address the bench. :MARIS61:

Somebody posted on Instagram that Robin Lopez has been traded for Tyson Chandler.

Not that impressive when half of the league is a joke.

So you want to trade a starter for bench players? or do you think our bench players will get us better bench players?
Either way no one thinks this rumor is legit, but it is sunday after noon and football is over. We are lacking for good topics.

Ya think? :)

Deng's USG is 23. Batum's is 17.

I know, I was just pointing out that Batum isn't better in every statistical category, and PER is usually a stat that a lot of people care about.

Also, thanks for putting me in your sig!

Oh, OK. Now 36-15 isn't impressive. Got it.

19-11 vs the western conference
17-4 vs the eastern conference

It's not that great.

Beating up on the joke that is the eastern conference? Who cares. That's not who they will face in the playoffs.

CLE isn't going to get anyone nearly as good as Nic in exchange for Deng. At best they'd get someone like CJ plus a couple second-rounders.

The Blazers are 13-10 vs teams .500 and above

23-5 vs teams under

I stand by my statement that this team as currently constructed won't do shit

OK, let's say I agree. The Blazers aren't very good. How does Deng make the team that much better? How does Deng potentially leaving the team this summer make the team better in the future?

Define "shit." It's not much of a statement when you use a vague term that can be interpreted many different ways.

Going deep in the playoffs

What do you mean by deep in the playoffs? So this team can win a series or two, but not a title? I don't think you'll find many who disagree with that opinion.

I'm not convinced this team can even win a 1st round playoff series

I agree that this team has to get better to win a playoff series. But I think they can get better with who they have now.

I'm not convinced that any team outside of Miami, Indiana, and OKC can win a first round playoff series. Those three are locks. Everybody else? It's a crapshoot to me. What deal can be made to make the Blazers a shoe-in to do better than "shit" in the playoffs?

I think the Blazers are less likely to win a 1st round series than OKC, SA, HOU and GS based on strengths and weaknesses. I might put the Clippers in there as well.

That wasn't what I asked.

I think Sly's Batum for Durant would be a good start. It'd help if we could do Matthews for LeBron James too.
