1 of the 3 Pakistanis killed was a woman. Naturally, the US deflects Muslim criticism by claiming she was a human shield. The compound has 12-18 foot high walls topped with barbed wire, 2 large security gates, and inner security areas. When the compound was built it was alone, well outside of town. Since then, other houses have been built around it. Its garbage is burned inside the compound in special equipment, not collected like the neighbors' garbage. Bin Laden was not killed a week ago after all. Obama gave the order 2 days ago, Friday morning. The US rocketed and burned the American helicopter that had mechanical problems to prevent capture. 2 helicopters remained and made the 45-minute strike by a unit of 40 men. The place was found due to couriers who transported materials to it. The US didn't tell Pakistan in advance.
 
It's the smart thing to do. If I were President, my first reaction would be to put his head on a stick and put it at Ground Zero.

Ugh. He's dead, man. I doubt he can get it up, unless there's some sort of rigor mortis thing going on. Haven't examined a lot of dead guys' dicks, so I'm not sure. Maybe Speed's experience on Bones would be helpful.

Seeing all our fellow Americans gathering at the White House is such a great thing to see.

Oh now they've shown Ground Zero. Damnit, my allergies are acting up...my eyes keep watering for some reason.

I think you have to give the President credit for doing the right thing and ordering a strike inside another soveriegn country. If this wasn't bin Laden, it's an act of war. He took a big risk, and the military rewarded him for it.

As I've said, let the military do their jobs.

I imagine that there are many ears to the ground looking for any signs of communication as well. It is not hard to expect that we get a lot of underlings in the aftermath.

Well the best part of any attempt is that you most likely capture or kill more of them. I also think that "fringe" members will now walk away since they probably can. I mean if you are someone that associates with AQ, you just got a major wake up call. This is the most infamous criminal world wide, and he just got taken out. That sends a message.
 
Problem is, i heard that AQ has said in the past that if/when bin laden is killed, they will retaliate.... hmm

Bullies like to yap, but yes there will be blood. At the same time as I have stated, that blood will lead to deeper cuts into their organization.
 
Hope the Dept of Homeland Security steps up their watches and chatter in the wake of all of this. Have some family going to Israel and Europe this month, told them to monitor the bulletins and be careful (I was already leery of them going to israel).
 
Pakistan sources now say Pakistani intelligence officials were on ground during this operation, contradicting American reports.

Seems like they are trying to save face here. There are some questions that need answering about Pakistan.

Speculation on al jazeera just now that pakistan actually turned him in after protecting him up until now.

What do they mean by turned him in? US special ops obviously raided the compound and shot him in the head. Did they give up their position? I have some doubts about that. I have large doubts that Pakistan was informed about this operation at all, because there would be way too many leaks going around and getting to Osama.
 
From the way people are celebrating, it was clearly a big priority for the people of America. Bush gave up in about 6 months. Obama got shit DONE. This isn't just about intelligence. The COMMANDER IN CHIEF runs the SHOW. It's how he responded to it that is clutch.
