Musharraf: Bin Laden mission violated Pakistan

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on Monday accused the U.S. of violating his country’s sovereignty by sending in special forces to kill Osama bin Laden.

“American troops coming across the border and taking action in one of our towns, that is Abbottabad, is not acceptable to the people of Pakistan. It is a violation of our sovereignty,” Mr. Musharraf told CNN-IBN, an Indian news channel.

He added that it would have been “far better if Pakistani Special Services Group had operated and conducted the mission. To that extent, the modality of handling it and executing the operation is not correct.”

Uh huh... I'm sure that would have been far better.

Fuck him. He's likely just mad because of money and help they get through fucks like OBL. If we asked for Pakistani help, we would have "just missed him" once again. Like so many times before. As he would have likely been tipped off. I recognize how it could be a violation of their sovereignty. And I don't really give a shit.

US official: New tape may be last from bin Laden

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. intelligence officials believe Osama bin Laden made a propaganda recording shortly before his death and expect that tape to surface soon.

It is unclear whether the tape is audio or video, but a U.S. official says that intelligence indicates it is already working its way through al-Qaida's media pipeline. The official said the timing was coincidental and there is no indication he knew U.S. forces were bearing down on him.

A new recording from bin Laden would provide a final word from the beyond grave for a terrorist who taunted the U.S. with recorded propaganda for years. It could also provide fodder to those who insist he is still alive.

You hearing all the info about all the decisions and orders our President had to make to get this done? Our Commander In Chief led the operation and got the job done. Give credit where credit is due.

Naw man, odds are he is toast. Just want to know when.

You know, I get hammered here for lumping a lot of the musulim people in the middle east together and referring to them as "those fuckers" those people" etc. Just because there are boundary's drawn on a map does not mean that the fuck head mentality stops there.

those fuckers knew he was in fuckastan. How does a puke like that have a fuckin "media pipeline" and we can not trace it down? No, we could have known for years where he was, just elected not to "pull the trigger"

That picture is a fake. Media outlets are taking that picture down and blaming conspiracy theorists for the circulation of that picture.

I'm sorry, but making a couple of decisions is nothing compared to the years of sacrifice given by our intelligence agencies and our military. I don't mind giving a leader a little credit, but it's nothing compared to the credit I'm giving the other folks.

Yeah, I've seen a few explanations about how that picture was photoshopped, but when I posted it I didn't know.

I can't understand why we won't release the dead Bin Laden photos.

the pictures probably dont look like him, because he shaved

Apparently, leon Panetta has just admitted that information used to get Bin Laden came from waterboarded gitmo prisoners.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: Can you confirm that it was as a result of water boarding that we learned what we needed to learn to go after Bin Laden?

LEON PANETTA: Brian, in the intelligence business you work from a lot of sources of information and that was true here… It's a little difficult to say it was due just to one source of information that we got… I think some of the detainees clearly were, you know, they used these enhanced interrogation techniques against some of these detainees. But I'm also saying that, you know, the debate about whether we would have gotten the same information through other approaches I think is always going to be an open question.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: So finer point, one final time, enhanced interrogation techniques -- which has always been kind of a handy euphemism in these post-9/11 years -- that includes water boarding?

LEON PANETTA: That's correct.

Perhaps not, but they sure pay CEO's a lot more than they pay factory workers to do just that. Decision making must be at least kinda important.

Most factory workers don't put themselves in harm's way. If Bush or Obama rappelled off a Pave Low and put two in Bin Laden's left eye, then they'd be getting the lion's share of the credit for me. Until then, I credit the intelligence community and our military.

I found it a little small of Obama he didn't give the previous Administration credit during his speech. The Bush Administration took a lot of flak for policies that in the end help catch this maggot.

Well, since Obama had known that this intelligence did come from Gitmo, perhaps that is why he didn't close it....knowing that he wouldn't be able to claim full credit later on.

He gave Bush credit, and he called Bush before the speech to inform him of the good news. He also kept Bush's Secy. of Defense and his general that won the war in Iraq.

i agree he should have acknowledged theodore roosevelt

Facts won't matter here.

If I missed where he gave the Bush Administration credit, then I stand corrected.

I'm amazed he kept the General he joined in calling "General Betray Us" when he was in the Senate.

[E]ven if [Osama bin Laden] is caught tomorrow, it is five years too late. He has done more damage the longer he has been out there. But, in fact, the damage that he has done . . . is done. And even to capture him now I don’t think makes us any safer.
-- Nancy Pelosi, Sept. 8, 2006 (press conference)

The death of Osama bin Laden marks the most significant development in our fight against al-Qaida. . . . I salute President Obama, his national security team, Director Panetta, our men and women in the intelligence community and military, and other nations who supported this effort for their leadership in achieving this major accomplishment. . . . [T]he death of Osama bin Laden is historic. . . .

I'm no fan of San Fran Nan, but calling former Presidents Bush and Clinton and thanking them for their work in the War on Terror was a class move. I wonder if President Obama made the same phone calls? I would like to think that he did.

Its been widely reported that he called Bush Jr. when they knew they killed the bastard.

I think Hillary could just tell Bill when she gets home and Bill asks how work was lol.

Cool. Thanks for informing me. Repped.

Why are they calling it a "million dollar compound"? The place looked like a dump.

Maxiep, according to CNN, he called Bush before any public announcement, and he thanked Bush during the speech.

Real estate prices in Abottabad are through the roof. Lots of Californians moving there buying up everything.
