The average number of shots fired in self defense is proportional to the weapon capacity, all but 1 or 2 rounds. That was before some states like NY decided 7 was enough....even though that number is half of what NY law enforcement officers fire in self defense. Magazine limits to not existent magazines is a De facto ban and violates SCOTUS precedent that states 2A protects use of firearms in their designed configuration. 7 and 10 round pistol mags don't meet that standard for most calibers, same for 10 round mags for ARs and AKs, those were designed to use 20 or 30 rounders.

...yeah, I was just pointing out to rick, that not all but most handguns are not very accurate unless you are VERY close. I remember trading for a Ruger 22LR Semi (brand new) a few years ago...worst gun I've ever fired...I could hit shit with that thing from any further than 15 feet or so. Conversely, My Son has an AR that is very accurate.
...I eventually traded that worthless piece of crap Ruger for a rifle exactly like the one I once owned when I was a kid. I still have it and still love it and still use it quite often around the farm here. It's now a classic and quite collectable but no way I'll ever let this one go;

If we have to chase or track down the thief, or varmit, its simply worth blowing his whole damn town up, to find him.....!!! Save on cremation too.

Accuracy-knock a piece of flyshit off of a Taliban hair on head...! Or thru his nostril...!!!

Hammer, I'd start by going to a local indoor range and take a basic firearms safety class....even better if you do it with your bride. As for hunting, before you ever take a shot at a living creature, a basic rifle course such as the Appleseed project or any number of NRA sponsored classes are a great place to begin when you're ready. I started when I was 7 with my dad.

I would love to do that.... I just don't think I'll have any time w/ the baby on the way...

Priorities come first. Theoretically the opportunity will exist when you are ready. I've got a few neighbors with younglings and nervous spouses, same boat as you. One of our other neighbors had a 911 event, was pretty pissed it took the cops 12 minutes to respond...was griping at an HOA meeting. I ended up taking a couple guys pistol shopping that weekend.

Remember when planning to make a purchase, you will also need a safe or concealment device that is child proof. Bedside biometric safes are a good choice, but if you want out of sight/out of mind, than things like this: http://tacticalwalls.com are a good option. If you are DIYer, pretty simple things you can do.

Then, we have flying projectiles, flash bang, (not worth a shit really), incendiary, and fragment grenades.....yes, every one needs a few dozen... :lol:

we also have Bazooka's.....RPG's of a new era. Unlike the big bulky shoulder held cannons. Short compact, 2 man required missile launcher bazookas, can hit a target head on, or switch to Fire From Heaven mode, down directly onto target....Price Tag...? Not for Sale....!

Or-you can have one of these, Anti-RPG Units-fits nice to your car...!

Or you can own one of these....

1.6 to 2.4 mil. You'd have to forfeit your Pagani though...!

I don't get it though, each of the Shuttle's were sold for 1 million each. Some of these are as much as double the price of a Shuttle, in need of Refurbishments. Of course refurbishments would cost a few hundred mil.
