Cavs and Celts will go head to head for Jamison, but sources say Cavs are very involved in talks for Amar'e Stoudemire.
but yeah, NBA champions are made by making big, ballsy moves for elite players. None of this Brendan Haywood bullshit. No trading ZBO for Imaginary cap space!
Trade for Garnett = Ring
Trade for Gasol = Ring
that's how you get it done now.

Garnett wasn't exactly young when he got traded, but he bought into the team and help contribute in a positive way. Who's to say a player like Butler who isn't young could do the same for next year when we hope to try and make a run? How about young guys like Iggy who are rumored to be on the block?
Teams are just always trying to get better. We, right now, are not. It could pay off in the long run if Batum/Bayless/Rudy develop into studs or at least 1 of them. If not, then what? It'll be hard to trade them if they flop in the sense that they are just mainly role players. Maybe not hard, but they won't have the value they do currently IMO. Teams are always looking to get better, I don't sense that with KP at the helm, perhaps I am wrong, who knows. We just have to hope our young talent pans out because if it doesn't, it could be bad for us.
Because Butler isn't a former MVP like KG, nor did he have the #'s of Pau Gasol (nor do we have a player of Kobe's caliber here).

Teams are in win now mode because they have old teams and their window is closing. Perfect times for teams in win now mode to make a move is the deadline.
VC was amazing the other night.
Carter is having the worst season of his career, and it isn't even close. He's done.
Celtics are old, yes. Mavericks are kind of, yes. Lakers will get about 5 years maybe even more from Kobe, I think. The Cavs aren't all that old and any team with LeBron and Amare, I don't think I would bet against. Then you have up and coming teams such as the Thunder who look good and have cap space for next year and could make a trade if they wanted/needed or sign a very nice player. Just because some teams are old and will be gone by our time, doesn't mean every team will be done.
My question is, if we are ever in win now mode, will we ever make that type of trade to put us over the type if needed? Will KP go against his thing of doing mid-season traded? Right now, he has not shown to be that type of person, can he be, I guess we will see.

But lets not stop ourselves from assuming the worse before that time even comes.. Guilty until proven innocent. Makes perfect sense.
Well then, since we don't have a player of Kobe's caliber and since we don't have any type of those guys on our roster barring a healthy Oden possibly, I guess we should just concede trying to win a Championship whether we make a trade or not. Sounds to me from your post we don't have much of a chance.
The Cavs face the very real possibility of losing LeBron after this season. I'm not sure there is a team in the league with a greater sense of urgency right now. If they land Amare, I'd think LeBron would be much more likely to stay in Cleveland.
What does Cleveland have (not named LeBron) that Phoenix would want?

Perhaps Ilgauskas' ending contract?
Aha!
Seems like a waste of Steve Nash though, doesn't it? The Suns had been playing great ball lately until they ran into the traveling circus known as the '09-10 Blazers.
Yeah, I can't see why the suns do that. Dump a fairly young star for nothing? That seems sort of crazy.
