Amit (Chicago, IL): Can you elaborate on the breaking news that the Hornets are going to trade Chandler to the Thunder???!!!

Chad Ford: (1:27 PM ET ) Marc Stein is reporting that they'll send Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox there (both expiring contracts) for Chandler. Great trade for the Thunder in my opinion. They needed a young, athletic big. They are stacked with talent now with Durant, Westbrook, Green and Chandler. If they add a two guard like James Harden in the draft ... wow.

great...and we get to play them 2 more times. everyone talks about us as up and coming....

that team is gonna be goooood

NOLA is tryin' to save some cash! CP3 is probably PISSED!!!!!!!!!

Go become a fan of the Thunder then, we won't mind! REALLY!

It's true.

That's horrible. Chandler would have been ideal if the Bulls did the Boozer trade.

I called tyson Chandler to OKC a few times. Only I had him going there as a free agent in 2010. OKC can still offer Ben Gordon a good contract after this trade.

I'm with Mixum a bit on this one...Presti's doing a pretty darn good job turning Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis and the #2 pick into Westbrook, Durant, Green, Collison/Wilcox and Chandler, AND 5 first rounders in the next 2 years.

The Thunder are really gaining some quality pieces for down the road. In a couple years, I could see them being among the elite.

This is good news for the Blazers and makes the third seed that much more attainable this year.

wow...

westbrook - pg
green - sg
durant - sf
09 draft pick
chandler - c

thats a playoff team next year with depth added. add them to the list

Yes, but NOH just hurt their team with this deal. Don't we play them a couple more times too?

Things are starting to happen. I think we're coming out of the 7th inning stretch Blazer fans!

I won't be shocked to see the Thunder in the playoffs next season, and I'll bet they finish the season playing at least .500 ball.

This is going to be a good rivalry in a couple of years ... much more so if we can land Wallace, who should be able to give Durant a good run for his money defending him.

Nope. We already split 2-2

If they want to save some cash trade us CP3 for Raef, Outlaw, Bayless, and draft picks.

Third seed?

I was thinking #4 behind Lakers, SA and Denver.

I think that the Blazers, Nuggets and Hornets were all at the same level before. Now it's just us and the Nuggets, IMO.

If they traded CP3 to us, they could have our 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 1sts.

They'll be the #30 pick each year, and we can buy #29 for 3M.

i dunno about that. smith/wilcox could add more than chandler was giving them this year.

Wow.............I'm impressed Thunder have done a great job rebuilding!

Nice deal for OKC. Presti is doing a helluva job there. I don't understand this from NOLA's perspective though. It's as if they're blowing up a contending team?

The Hornets now have no legitimate defender in the post ... they may squeak into the playoffs based on David West and Chris Paul's ability, but they are now a perennial one-and-done team until and unless they can get a legit center.

Pure salary dump for a team that is deep in the red.

If we get Wallace or Butler at an affordable price we'll be moving past the Nuggets as well...

I like Chandlers defense, but I'm not sure how much of a difference maker he'll be on the other end of the court without Paul. He also seems a bit disinterested to me when things aren't going his way. I've seen him tossed twice from games at the RG in the last two years, I wonder how good of a citizen he'll be on a young Thunder team. Obviously a great move for OKC, give up nothing for the big they need, I just wonder how much of Chnadlers big contract is attributed to having played with CP3.
