LeBron was literally shooting bad percentages through the first 4 games or so with BORIS DIAW guarding him and being dared to shoot. Take out his garbage time stats through the first 4 and he was pretty pathetic.

MJ would never let the Spurs get away with BORIS DIAW guarding him for multiple games.

I'd like to see the percentages that say LeBron is a better mid-range shooter than Jordan over the first 10 years of their careers

I'll be waiting

MJ had a 104 offensive rating, 96 in 2012 standards, through the first six games of the NYK 1992 series. LeBron would never get away with that kind of chokejob.

MJ's series against the Pistons were pathetic back when he was losing in his prime, and he never got as hot as James. Overall the body of individual metrics is what I look at.

1) 2013 LeBron is a better jumpshooter than Durant per attempt, maybe you should stop talking.

2) Cleveland LeBron was athletic, not a jumpshooter. LeBron will pound you back then.

Looking at basketball-reference and listing off stats does not make you knowledgeable about basketball. It makes you look like a tool. I've found that the people on the internet that do this the most usually know the least about basketball. Looks like you fit right in that category.

I love criticizing people that write about advanced stats for ESPN, so you're wrong there as well.

So you're not going to bother to post their mid-range percentages?

Figures.

The NYK, a superior defensive team that played physical as hell when you could do so.

LeBron was struggling when being DARED TO SHOOT. LEFT OPEN. BORIS DIAW.

Miami LeBron is who I was referring to.

Cleveland LeBron is just an athletic freak, I report news not change it.

Wow you are so uneducated.

No buddy, actually THIS ERA, is better defensively. The Knicks dared MJ to drive to the basket/shoot and he couldn't.

The Pacers are the #1 defense in the NBA, in a better defensive era, your point is moot.

The Spurs are easily better just with their normal team defense, not counting five guys in the paint.

Kevin Durant shot a better percentage from 3-10ft, 10-16ft. 3PT% they were essentially tied, although Durant was technically better.

LeBron was better from at the rim and 16-3pt.

How was LeBron a better jumpshooter again last year again? Because he shot a whole 1% better in the 16-3pt range, while Durant beat him in the other areas not under the basket?

IIRC, LeBron tends to be the superior long two-point jumpshooter.

Was Jordan left WIDE OPEN? No. LeBron was. This fact cannot be ignored.

Yeah I'm sure the Knicks just left the lane wide open like the Spurs left LeBron wide open

So Jordan is that unathletic? Face it either LeBron outplayed Jordan with Jumpers, or Jordan played worse the first six games in a weak era.

1) Worse overall team D
2) Zone was Illegal defense back in the 90's

Means what? You've got shit and egg on your face.

" 1) 2013 LeBron is a better jumpshooter than Durant per attempt, maybe you should stop talking."

Obviously not

Your argument is ignorant of opponent strength, it doesn't make sense because Jordan is not Dirk or Durant either.

Durant MIGHT be better on jumpshots per attempt, it depends if he plays soft defenses. The fact that it is an argument is total pwnage for me.

How does that make Jordan not athletic?

LeBron was left wide open and given all the space in the world to shoot and struggled. This fact cannot be ignored. The fact he struggled multiple games doing this, with Boris Diaw guarding him, is sad.

Weak era? That's nuts.

There were less euros to pad your stats against, no zone defenses to clog the lane, hand check rules that today are FTAs (shots with nobody guarding you), real centers on every team, and lack of flagrant foul rules.

The claim you made is clearly not true.

Pwn that

But James did it against a better league, a better defense, in a better defensive era. Jordan played in one of the softest post-seasons in recent history, with a league 111 offensive rating.

And Jordan was worse, I think you're missing the point. Jordan wasn't given open jumpers, he was given the most efficient shot in the game.

LAY-UPS.

About this, it makes me laugh when people say LeBron can guard 1-5

Yeah, when the center is freaking Tiago Splitter or some other terrible scrub. You didn't see him slowing Roy Hibbert down (who played like Wilt chamberlain that series).

The 1-5 claim needs to stop

Yes I'm sure Jordan was given uncontested lay-ups like LeBron was given uncontested shots

Despite what you say you and I both know you clearly don't believe this. I'm letting it slide.

So re-state my position: Durant MIGHT be a better jumpshooter if LeBron goes on a deep playoff run and Durant chokes. You look weak there.

In fact LeBron is a better jumpshooter than many of Dirk and Durant's seasons, was Jordan ever at that level jumpshooting?

Ahem, this is a bad thing for your era, if you're trying to make an intelligent point.

And worse advanced statistics defensively, nice try.

Nice, the guy destroyed his own position in that post.

1) Lacking zone defense is a bonus for me, not you.
2) LeBron does defend Tim Duncan and Roy Hibbert sometimes, he fronts them and clinches titles see game 7.

The fact you've changed your claim is "pwnage" for me.

1) Jordan played worse, you have no counter.
2) Jordan can't get to the paint, ouch, in a weaker era.
3) Jordan is not LeBron or Durant as a jumpshooter
4) If Durant chokes early he'll preserve the jumpshooting edge.
5) You used basketball-reference, the site that countered most of your positions.

Looks like I win, 4-1.
