Re: Mark Cuban's Comments on Sterling

One thing's for sure....It makes it easier for Magic Johnson to buy the team.

Re: Mark Cuban's Comments on Sterling

Hmmm... makes me wonder what equipment and setting was used for the "recordings". I hope they don't find 18 minutes of dictation missing during the investigation....... Clippergate?

Re: Mark Cuban's Comments on Sterling

Sterling is a franchisee, it's not "his" business, so much as his business is part of a larger whole, whose brand and image are potentially being damaged by the actions of one member.

I say let him keep his team, but eject the Clippers from the league and make them an independent entity. This might also void all of his current contracts that exist outside of the collective bargaining agreement.

That's just fucking stupid and shortsighted. And probably grounds for a very strong lawsuit on behalf of Sterling.

As I stated, these were private thoughts and conversations, not directives aimed at anyone nor a policy of the ownership to any employees. There is no culture of racism in the organization because it is singularly contained with one man and with him sharing a thought with a person not affiliated with the organization in any capacity.

We live in a society where one's opinions on an issue can now be interpreted as bigoted with them actually being so (i.e. opposing Same Sex marriage). This is the slippery slope. Can a league destroy one's business based on private opinions he held in private?

Re: What I'd like to hear Silver say

I just think it's time for the Seattle Clippers to make their NBA debut next season

Re: How would you protest?

I mentioned in another thread that I hope the guy who wanted to buy the Kings, buys the Clippers and moves them to Seattle where they won't have to share an arena and where Blake Griffin is as far away from commercial TV as possible

Re: Mark Cuban's Comments on Sterling

Or not, who knows. Her jewelry alone (in that picture) is worth more than I make in a year though.

One thing about which you can be certain, is that Sterling is going to sue regardless. He was an ambulance chaser before he was a developer. And in real estate, EVERYONE sues.

And after the offseason, he'll probably look to bring another lawsuit claiming collusion by the players association if there is lots of talk about not wanting to play there, or anybody demanding out.

I would be interested to see the lease agreement the Clips have with Staples. I'm sure the L*kers would like to have the LA market to themselves and there are a number of attractive markets that would want the Clippers. Seattle, St. Louis, Kansas City, Vancouver and San Diego come to mind.

Re: Mark Cuban's Comments on Sterling

Sterling has to realize that the Clippers are a billion dollar franchise at this moment. Every month he waits, he will lose $100 million in value as players/coaches/staff walk out or try to get out of playing for him.

Have a championship ready team bought and ready for those douchebags up in Seattle? No thanks.

Re: What I'd like to hear Silver say

Find a solution that kicks him in the checkbook, and that will get his attention. Nothing else matters to Sterling.

Re: What I'd like to hear Silver say

What I'd like to hear:

Hello, thanks for joining us today.

Fuck that old ass honky. He's out. Effective immediately

drops mic

Re: What I'd like to hear Silver say

$5m fine, suspended indefinitely.

Re: How would you protest?

I'd bring Magic Johnson to the game with me and sit in Donald Sterling's seats, since he won't be using them anyway.

BNM

Re: What I'd like to hear Silver say

No, that's what Silver's going to actually impose. Verified by NBA spokesman and its on teh twitterz

Hahahahaha! And some of you thought it was a dumb idea.

Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander told the Houston Chronicle that the NBA should allow the Los Angeles Clippers players to become free agents so that they don't have to play for Donald Sterling.

He made this suggestion to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who said that he would consider it.

“Chris Paul would look really good dishing to James Harden and Dwight Howard.”

Yeah, too bad Alexander was a dumbass to have Morey pay poison pill contracts to Lin and Asik.

Re: What I'd like to hear Silver say

Will use his position to have the NBA BOG to force a sale of the team.
