To play a little devil's advocate here...
Why would he hire Elgin Baylor to a top executive position in his business if he is such a racist? He hired Baylor in 1986 and Baylor was axed 22 years later (the team did suck, the draftees kept getting hurt, etc).
EDIT: He gave up a lot to get Doc Rivers as his coach this past offseason.
Why would the NAACP even consider him for an award?
Baylor sued Sterling and lost his case. The decision was a 12-0 jury vote against him (in Sterling's favor).
People do sue people or entities with deep pockets in hopes of even getting a settlement.
