You guys keep having them too far north for me anyway, lol, and the gas savings will more than cover the amount of the fine...You are banned from the next viewing party and fined 2.5 Coors light.

Heck yeah! Pineway Golf Course or Game Time in Lebanon would be my first two choices...OK fine. If the Blazers make the next round (doubt they will-reverse jinx), it will be an ASSAULT ON LEBANON viewing party. We just need to get one of the more sensible forumites such as Lanny or even SPD to act as the designated driver. It won't be me because I'll be the designated drinker.
I'm loving the idea of anyone trying to catch me with a half-full Coors Light, lol. They usually don't last long enough to take accurate measurements...I would LOVE to see you try to get half a Coors Light away from Wook.

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Researchers at UCLA will return a portion of a $3 million pledge that Clippers owner Donald Sterling made to support kidney research, school officials announced Tuesday
The university is returning the initial $425,000 payment from the Donald T. Sterling Foundation made earlier this month, and will not accept the balance of the money, calling the comments he made in a recorded conversation “divisive and hurtful,” according to spokesperson Phil Hampton.
Dr. Ira Kurtz, a professor of medicine in UCLA’s Division of Nephrology was awarded the gift earlier this month to fund research on the structural properties of key proteins in the kidney that affect its function in health and disease.
KNX 1070′s Ed Mertz reports the project’s ultimate goal is to aid in the development of drugs to treat patients with kidney disorders.
If you think about it, UCLA just paid Sterling's NBA fine, and Sterling gets an extra $500k to keep in his bank accounts. Idiots.
I'm sure people will rush in and surpass the Sterling donation. Actually it's a ton of free publicity for them. They're not stupid, they know what they're doing.
So UCLA is using race to drive donations. Until the NAACP and the Clipper players refuse or return their money from Sterling, I think this is a dumb decision. An extra $3m pays for a lot of researchers, and maybe potential donors have things in their private lives that they don't want exposed, either. The more I think about it, it's a dumb move.

I think it would a dumb move to accept Sterling money. Especially for a public academic institution. I could imagine there would be plenty of protests on campus.
That there is devil's money . . .
No, they're returning a donation they are uncomfortable with and hoping it generates at least that much or more.
What Sterling should have done or do in the future is what Phil Knight does, saying he will match dollar for dollar every donation up to a certain amount.
Why? His money is dirty, according to you, and should be rejected.
Hahahaha! I never said his money is dirt. I just don't see it as this giant UCLA fuck up like you do.
And no, I won't be donating to UCLA. I donate to other charities.
I'm not sure why you're trying to turn this into some argument.
Go Blazers!
Has the NAACP given back Sterling all of the money he's donated to that organization? It's easy to say don't take the money, but it kind of fucks over those with kidney issues, a group that is disproportionately black. Are either you or Sly going to donate to UCLA's Nephrology department?
UCLA is also having major issues with the racial climate. It wouldn't be a good look to accept the money.
How racist is Sterling really? I mean not once did he use the N word in his diatribe, his head coach is black and the highest paid coach in the league, his gf is mixed race. He just sounds like an old man with a lot of friends who group up racist and theyre the ones causing problems.
This Donald Sterling thing is like a witch hunt, and commenters are stumbling over themselves trying to give the most eloquent rebuke of him. Bullshit.
