OT: Could Anthony Davis win MVP, MIP, and DPOY this season?

Kobe was in his prime in 2004-2005 and the Lakers didn't make the playoffs

Wade did absolutely nothing for the Heat for 4 years until LeBron came to town

Knicks were terrible last year, terrible this year

Sorry. The talent you are surrounded with matters.

Wade won a title before LBJ came. He still made the playoffs even when Shaq left.

Kobe had one bad year out of 18. Yeah whatever on that one.

Melo wasn't a top 3 player in New York. Sorry

Kevin Garnett is one of the greatest players ever yet didn't make the playoffs his last 3 years in Minnesota

Stop using flawed logic

He also had 3 years with the best 3 records in NBA.

Show me a top 3 player that hasn't made the playoffs more than not?

As I said. When he develops a post game and "go to move" he won't be best 3. It's gonna happen and when it does, his team will be a top 3 ball club, regardless who he has on his team

He doesn't have to develop a post game to be a great player

He's a great player right now and it's really not up for debate. You're just wrong and don't realize it.

Um... earth to Roytroll, I already said he was great. I just don't agree with the OP about MVP. You are saying he is top 3! Lmao

You said he is "just a good player" and not a great player. Fuck, read your own posts.

I'd put him top 3 and there's nothing "lmao" about that.

He's arguably the best defensive player in the game who also averages 25 ppg

Name 5 players better than him
Yea except he isnt. He is great defensively and shows flashes of just how damn good he will be but he isnt a top 5 defender let alone the best PF defensively yet.

Leave it to Roytoy to argue semantics. You said top 3, which he is not. I said good, but we were arguing "greatness" which he is not. He is not at the level of LBJ or Durant. Not even close... Sorry

Apparently you missed my post earlier in this thread where I said LeBron and Durant are better than him.

He's a great player in the game right now and that isn't debatable. Like I said, you're just wrong and don't realize it.

I guess you just wanted to ignore the OP? Ah I got it... You had an agenda... Noted...

Right now, based on stats, he is the leader for all three awards. How crazy would that be?

He's an amazing player. And his team, the Pelicans are no joke. If they can get their offensive identity corrected, they will and actually are a handful. They were for the Blazers. I wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs.

He's gone from "really good" to near GOAT numbers. Who has improved more than him? He is only playing one more minute than last year and yet all his stats have jumped.

GOAT should be saved for longevity guys... not in the 3rd year.

also, the difference in the stats dont wow me. he's always been good. that award should go to someone whose had some sort of challenge from the previous season (mostly basketball related) and came back the next with a purpose. AD was bound to improve, the MIP should be for someone that made a legitimatw push towards being good when maybe he wasn't tabbed to be for one reason or another.

I don't think he can win all those awards... But I do think MVP is possible. The pelicans are better than people are giving them credit for. I'm not saying fro run in the playoffs good but they are good, and so far Davis is looking like the best player in the league.

When was the last time someone won reg season MVP for being on a team that was less than the third seed?

He is putting up GOAT numbers. He is WAY ahead of anyone currently in the league in PER. Didn't you guys watch him play against us? He was great. They lost because Jrue Holiday went 0-9 in the 4th quarter when he shouldn't have shot at all.

When was the last time someone had a 36 PER (6 higher than anyone else) and didn't win MVP?

Season ain't over. If you think he's gonna stay at 36 PER until season's end, then sell me the unicorn you've been riding!

Doesn't matter how good he is or will be, he'll never win ROY.

Kobe won titles and then didn't make playoffs in 2005. Was he suddenly worse? And when he won titles, was he suddenly better again?
