So: Memphis signed him and played him to screw Portland. They and his agent made it sound like they were sticking up for Miles - protecting his right to play. In fact, they did not give a shit, either about him or their team (as it was never about what was good for their team). Also: either Portland actually lied, or their doctors lied or Memphis knowingly put Miles' health at risk to fuck with us. And Portland is the team that comes out smelling of shit?
Actually, I was thinking of this when DeJuan Blair was being discussed at the draft. The word was that literally most of the team doctors in the league refused to clear him to play. But San Antone's doctor is okay with it. So maybe Portland's doctor is one of the cautious ones which would explain passing on Blair (what, three times?) and give legitimacy to the claim that our teams doctors legitimately thought Miles should retire.
