According to the washington post, which I miss greatly, he unexpectedly had knee surgery yesterday and will be out roughly three months.

Ouch. Big ouch.

Good luck Gilbert.

Contract year for him and a new shoe campaign launching this week. I remember a lot of superstars were hurt last year, this year is catching up quick.

Wow. That sucks.

why is this in the nets section? Made me think there was a gilbert on the NETS !

I'm too old and tired to hunt down another board.

Maybe the Wizards will try and fight us for the OJ Mayo race with the Sonics

Well, here's an interesting question. How do the Nets without Carter compare to the Wizards without Arenas? Which team would be better this season? Which team would have the better future?

The curse of NBA Livecover happens again...

Sh**t... Meniscus is an ugly ingury and can ruin your career. Get well Gilbert!

Arenas claims that it's not too bad and he'll be able to get back up to full strength. Also, there's a thread about this in the Wizards section if you want to discuss it there. As I said in the other thread, the Wizards are playing terrific bball even without Gil so if we can stay at least around .500 until he returns then we'll be in a great position to make a run before the playoffs.

The Wizards board gets hardly any attention as it is while the Nets board is easily the most active on the forum. I just want more traffic, if you could post it on the Wizards board next time I would appreciate it alot.

" Nets board is easily the most active on the forum"

Didn't know that. I wonder why...seriously.

Cause we're on a "whole nutha level".

One less team to contend with in the conference. I put them at 40-42 in my NBA preview...looks like that won't happen.

Anyway, I hope Arenas recovers fully from the injury. He's seems like a good guy.

Don't count on that, the Wizards are playing great ball without Gil. Also, 40-42? Have you ever watched the Wizards play? Damn, we need more nationally televised games.

GArenas, I appreciate your love for the Wizzards like the Nets Fans.

Wouldn't matter, he lives in Israel.

Seems that the Wizards are better than the Nets without their respective all-stars.

Wizards have more offensive weapons, which means more people to go to. Jamison and Caron Butler can make up a little bit for Arenas' scoring, and Daniels brings great playmaking skills. Plus, their bigs ain't too bad either. Am I forgetting anything..? Ah, yes, a great coach. (Yes, I'm jealous.)

People overrate Eddie Jordan's coaching ability. In the past he's been a mediocre - decent coach but this season, he's improveda good deal and I do consider him one of the better coaches in the league. However, to call him a great coach is stretching it a bit far. I think what's going to dictate how we do is how our young guns play.
