In the midst of the most boring/longest stretch of the off-season Ha Seung-Jin is newsworthy:

Rony Fahed had 21 points to lead Lebanon, which shut down () South Korea's 2.12-meter-high center Ha Seung-Jin to two points.

A 15-5 run down the stretch almost turned the table when South Korea were down only 67-65 with 10 seconds to go.

Fadi El Khatib received a foul with four seconds later. He made the first free-throw and missed the second but the South Koreans failed to connect on the defensive rebound when the time ran out.

This story was more entertaining when I misread "Rony Fahed had 21 points to lead Lebanon, which shut down" as:

Richie Frahm had 21 points to lead Lebanon, and shut down ...

So much size.

So little of absolutely anything else.

Christ. Just look at that photo. How the hell can you not dominate when everybody else is at eye level with your nipples?

I blame his coach. :smiley-smile:

Ha can certainly put the ball in the basket if he gets the ball in decent position. If his coach can't design an offense to achieve that, it's on him. If the other team manages to double and keep him from getting the ball, they need to work the ball to other players who need to take advantage of open looks. Maybe the South Korean coach has no clue what to do with a giant on his team?

Quit picking on Ha man! :tsktsk:

Even though, yes, he basically sucks. :press:

John Nash was proud of this one draft choice. I remember him saying that he felt Jin was the steal of the draft.

If only Ha would have been Chinese, then he would have been starting for us on the all star team next season.

I really hope MGB doesn't see this thread. We will all be facing the wrath of MGB.

I met HA when he was on the Reign nice guy....

As did I. Met his mom and dad, too, very briefly, all nice people.

I'd love to watch him play again, just to see if he's moved from a sixth-grade skill level to high school JV benchwarmer yet...

Were his parents giants, too?

Anyone find it odd, (or at least, telling) that only 2 of the Blazers from that team are still in the league?

Four, really -- Zach and Joel were on the team in 04-05, but were injured for that game.

That was also KP's biggest win as head coach.

He was proud of all of his picks. Remember when the Blazers drafted Telfair? Nash was seen on National TV saying "That's MY pick. That's MY pick."

I would say, "That pick cost Nash his future in the NBA!" but he already had demonstrated a lack of ability to build good teams well before the Blazers hired him.

But, man. Talk about choosing the wrong horses to back.

Telfair. Zach. Miles. Ratliff.

Dark, dark times for Blazers fans...

Good Lord those old game links. Wow!! Our roster was TERRIBLE!

But Ha FTW. Never give up on your dreams = my new desktop.
